Comments on: Iman Shumpert has torn ACL, done for playoffs

After seeing Rose and now Shumpert going down with these career-threatening, or at least career-altering, injuries, I’m afraid of who else might get hurt. The intensity always ratchets up in the playoffs as everyone knows, and the wear and tear of cramming 66 games into something like 130 days is going to manifest itself at this time of the year. I hope I’m wrong, I really do, but it scares me to think this is the tip of the proverbial iceberg, simply because the human body, even that of these elite athletes, simply wasn’t meant to undergo this much stress in this short a timeframe. Here’s hoping both Derrick and Iman can come back and be just as strong as they were before the injuries.

He has a torn ACL in his left knee and in his left meniscus……man, that’s gotta take longer to heal. I didn’t know there was an additional ACL in the meniscus. Beautiful job writing as always Kurt. You are a wordsmith.

Hey Kurt, you should add torn lateral meniscus as well. This is terrible for the rookie. What a season he’s had as a rookie, fan favorite…this is a shame. The torn lateral meniscus may change him as a player…oh god please no. Hope the best for him and really REALLY hope he has a full recovery.
