he doesn’t get paid for the games he’s suspended, so technically the equivalent of a fine, hence why more games should have been handed down. hit him in the pocketbook, unless you think he should ONLY miss 7 games AND get a hefty fine thereby not punishing the lakers as badly by missing one of their top players for a longer period.

I hate to use the “if this happened on the street…” comparison but if I smashed someone in the head on the street I’m pretty sure I’d get jail. In MWP case “jail” should be a season long ban. Being a player in the League is a privilege. 7 games is basically like a $500 fine to you or I. I can’t recall which retired NBAer said this, Barkley maybe, but he said if it weren’t for the NBA a lot of the guys in this league would be out robbing 7-11′s. Cant help but think that MWP would not only rob the store but burn it down when he was done.

He should have been suspended for the remainder of the season plus the first 2 months of next season. The only problem in doing that is when her finally came back into a game after the suspension, he would end up killing a player on the court.

Another sorry NBA decision, the 7 game suspension is far too stiff for a minor offense. If Harden hadn’t stood in front of World Peace blocking his way back down court then Peace wouldn’t have had to give Harden’s glass head a good forearm shiver. Harden deserved what he got and if he’s such a wimp he’s got a glass head then that’s too bad for him, maybe next time he’ll be smart enough to get out of a player’s way.

Stern seems to be doing everything he can to screw the Lakers this season, what’s needed is a 7 year suspension of David Stern from the NBA!
