Lopez was after the ball. But he could only reach the head of Griffin unless his arm was a feet longer and his elbow could bend 360 degree.

Flagrant 1 on the floor and flagrant 2 in the air. Easy!

I’m loving the hard hits on Griffin. He flops and acts like he’s been shot too much. On this hit most players would jump up to go at Lopez not hold their head which barely gets touched.
Overrated is Mr Griffin.

Couldn’t stop Blake Griffin? He didn’t have a field goal in the second half and was a complete non factor, especially after the hard fouls. Seems like if you rough him up a little, he disappears.

Flagrant foul? That’s a no call in Orlando. Griffin is such an actor that was better than his Kia commercials.

I agree, maaaaybe a flagrant 1, but honestly, I just think it’s a regular foul.

I hadn’t seen that much of Griffin except for all the viral dunk vids going around, but have recently seen some flops.

It seems to me that the flopper/actor criticism that’s been leveled against him is valid. And considering how bad he is at it, if the refs continue to give him the calls, his rep is going to suffer with players and fans alike eventually. It may end up working against him in the long run.

I got the same read. It was a hard foul, but IMO, not even worth a Flargrant II, a regular flagrant would of been fine. If he would of went straight down on his head it would of been one thing, but he went around it. Looked more like a Griffin sell job than all that hard of a foul (obviously it was at least in part a sell-job, you don’t stay down that long, then just pop up with no problems)

All in all, I’d say the call was a bit overzealous, but not ridiculously so.

Any call for a suspension is a joke

Yeha that’s how I read it too. He’s got his hand up until Blake fakes with the ball and Lopez goes down after it. It’s obviously a foul, but I really don’t think it was intentional.

The elbow by Wade last night was clearly a cheap shot and only got a flagrant 1. This looked like a hard foul from a play on the ball. Refs need more consistency.

Another cheap shot from a player who doesn’t have the talent or smarts to stop Blake Griffin any other way. Lopez was out to stop Griffin by any means possible and this was the way he chose- personally, I think Lopez should be out for the rest of the season.

It looked like he was going for the ball to me and it looked like Griffin was selling it to me. Didn't look harsh or brutal at all. He went around the head to try to reach the ball, which he didn't manage to. And I am not tolerant of flagrants at all.

Four games? Bynum only got 5 on his elbow shot on Barrea and that was much worse. I doubt he gets suspended.

Shot to the head/neck area.. Lopez needs to be suspended for four games at least. Do we really want that trashfire that is NHL hockey where their best players are going out on stretchers by hack players.. (talkin to you Raffi Torres you scumbag) ..
