I don’t think the Hawks see it that way, nor do I think it’s intended to be a disrespect. Rondo and Allen are hurt, and Pierce and Garnett are needed for the playoffs. Sending them out tonight only takes more of a toll on their bodies, and risks possible injury as well (injuries can happen in any game, of course, but better to have it happen during the playoffs than a few games before it)

Also, letting the 2nd unit and reserves get some serious game time just before the playoffs isn’t a bad idea either. Build a greater rapport with each other, as well as shake off any rust from lack of playing time.

And for the Hawks, it means they ‘should’ be able to easily lock up home court advantage tonight.
