Jeremy Lin makes Time’s list of 100 most influential people

Jeremy Lin isn’t as influential on the court as he was during the two weeks of Linsanity that gripped New York. He’s injured and even when he returns healthy the Knicks are Carmelo Anthony’s team now.

But it doesn’t make his story any less inspirational or important.

Which is why he made Time Magazine’s list of the 100 Most Influential People in the World. U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan wrote the piece on Lin.

Contrary to what you might read, Jeremy, 23, is no overnight sensation. In fact, he achieved success the old-fashioned way: he earned it. He worked hard and stayed humble. He lives the right way; he plays the right way.

It’s great to see good values rewarded in professional sports because that’s not always the case.

Not going to argue that.

Lin also wrote Tim Tebow’s piece for the Time list.
