Video: LeBron James introduces Norris Cole to Jay-Z

Apr 17, 2012, 7:24 PM EDT

“Hey, rook, come over here. I want you to meet Jay-Z.”

There are perks to playing with LeBron James in Miami — this kind of thing simply does not happen at Bucks games. Or at Cleveland State. After LeBron scores the final 17 Heat points to get them a win Monday night, he waves Norris Cole over so he can introduce the rookie to Jay-Z. Nice.

Things I enjoy about this video:

• When they talk in front of the cameras, LeBron and Jay-Z go “NFL coach calling in a play on the headset” and cover their mouths so there is no lip reading. My guess? They were discussing their disappointment that  the Pulitzer Prize committee did not give “Swamplandia” the prize for fiction this year. (By the way, really good read if you like literature, although the neat and clean ending bothered me a little.)

• Cool of LeBron to give all that gear to the young boy.

• Just like on the court, Chris Bosh is the guy they go to only when Lebron is otherwise occupied.

(Hat tip to KD at Ball Don’t Lie)

Nets fans chanting MVP. Nets owner slurping on him. Love it.

Who does Norris Cole play for? I never heard of him.

Now that was pretty cool, both being introduced to Jay Z and then pretty giving the kid everything.

Classy. Yeah, he made a few boneheaded decisions last year, but hes great for the sport and for South Florida

the only reason LBJ has a “BAD IMAGE” is because the HYPE MACHINE ESPN and the MEDIA..made it that way because CREATING a villain is exactly what the NBA wants for ratings.

LBJ has dont nothing but play the game right and be a good guy… look to guys like CP3, MELLO,DHOWARD if you want VILLAINS

As a season ticket holder I can tell you LeBron gives his gear away nearly every night. The media and the unreasonable have inaccurately depicted this guy since he left “home”.

      1) he disrespected his fans, owners and most importantly teammates they way he left CLE
      2) showed no humility by guaranteeing 7 rings before even practicing with his team
      3) mocked Dirk’s sickness in the finals by laughing and pretend coughing with Wade before a game when he KNEW cameras were on him
      4) has walked off court w/out shaking hands after playoff series losses several times

This isnt made up, he was told he is a GOD when he was 16, I understand that messes with your mind but he does have arrogance and insecurity issues (which he covers up by being even MORE cocky)
