Well, I can name an equal number of bad players that have great numbers playing with great teammates. The biggest thing for me is that Howard has basically had zero help for 5 years now, yet has consitantly had his team at the top of his conference. Bynum has been good for 3/4 of a season while playing with 2 hall of famers. Bynum’s good, but I’d still take the guy that’s dominated the league with zero help.

And if you want I can flip your logic on you about Bynum’s 2 20+ reb. to Howard’s 10 20+ reb. … Bynum has another 10+ reb. a night guy in Pau grabbing them. Who’s stopping Howard? Anderson? Big Baby? Orton? Hedo? I thought so.

Yes pud’, I do agree with you that what Howard is doing with that team is awfully impressive. He also has one of the best coaches in the league, say what you want about SVG, but the guy is great. But to say having lesser teammates and putting up inflated numbers doesn’t go hand in hand is outright ignorant at best. There are soooo many players throughout the years that I can name I don’t even want to waste my time.

And just so you know, I’m not a Magic fan, or a Howard fan. I just think that doing what he does on that team is awfully impressive. It’s probably silly for me to say, but I really don’t think that if Bynum were on the Magic he’d have that team in the playoffs. That’s a really bad team Orlando has down there; like 25 wins in a full season without Howard bad.

You really think playing with terrible teammates allows one to put up better numbers? No, at least not of you’re talking the best at your position in the game. There is no one else that a defense has to worry about consistantly on the Magic behind Howard. Bynum has the second best shooting guard of all time and a top 5 power forward to take all pressure off of him. Maybe points, but Bynum has pretty much averaged the same amount of points without Kobe has he had been for the two months prior. The fact that every single other stat is better for Howard is enough for me. That thirty rebound game was nice, but Howard has 10 20+ rebound games this season. Bynum has 2.

@00maltliquor, dude, my sentiments exactly!! D. Howard’s the no. 1 option in Orlando yet he’s only averaging 20 pts. Bynum’s almost doing that while having to share the rock with two other scorers!

Wouldn’t the fact Dwight is putting up those type of numbers across the board with Hedo and Ryan Anderson instead of Kobe and Pau HURT your argument??

Just imagine the numbers Bynum would be putting up if HE was in ORL as the unquestioned #1 option instead of the #2-3 like he is in LA. I mean, look what he’s putting up without Kobe! 30 rebounds in one game, 20+ pts. every game but 1 (16 pts., 30 reb.), stellar defense…

I love the game of ” fundamental ” basketball !

Watching the lakers play as a team, without one person trying to play hero, was very enjoyable !

I mean, who thought Gasol could shoot 2 for 2 three pointers, in the clutch.

Sessions made numerous fantastic assists and drives to the basket to set up others or make the shot.

Bynum was a stud. Metta was clutch !

Four lakers were in double figures.

The lakers have gone 4 and 1 without the ” ball hawk ” and it was a much more enjoyable and fundamentally sound, game to watch.

If they had the entire season to play and prepare ” as a team ” minus the ball hawk, they would closely resemble the winning strategy of the Mavs last year.
