Report: Lamar Odom no longer considered for Olympics

Way back in the Summer of 2010, Lamar Odom was a key part of Team USA winning the FIBA World Championships — his versatile game blends in beautifully with the international style of basketball. He can knock down threes or play in the post, and the things that make him a tough cover in the NBA make him tough on the international stage.

So when USA Basketball released its 21 finalists for the London Olympics, Odom was deservedly on the list.

But his poor play and issues this past season in Dallas — which led to the Mavericks basically asking him to just go away — has led to him falling out of consideration for a spot in London, reports Chris Tomasson at Fox Sports Florida.

And a source said that forward Lamar Odom, who had a poor season and has been made inactive by Dallas for the rest of the season due to squabbles with the team, has been eliminated from Olympic consideration.

Also he notes that Chauncey Billups was on the original list but his Achilles injury will keep him out of the games also.

No real shock with the Odom news, just another sign of how far he has fallen this season.

I hope this princess doesn’t ever get any burn with another team. Despicable display this year. And no, I’m not a Mavs fan.

Lamar-mar needs to relinquish his man card. His wife’s auto-renewed.

Everyone who has followed the NBA knows that Odom is fragile and he probably should have taken the year off. It didn’t help that Carlisle used him the wrong way. But he is being considered for a new reality TV show…

Don’t play Carlisle for Odom being lazy and uninterested.

I am not saying its a good or bad thing, but I feel like Odom’s involvement with E! and the whole Kardashian thing has affected his priorities. He needs to re commit himself to the game, or retire… because I like him & don’t wanna see him ruin his image any worse than he already has.

The dude should’ve kept his mouth shut and he’d still be a Laker

Ok, another subplot for his stupid tv show…

He must have wanted to be paid.

Maybe the Special Olympics will take him

Reality tv usually kills marriages but this one killed a career instead.

Odom has had a mountain of personal horrors this year and it took a wicked toll. The move to Dallas put him over the edge. His heart was never in it. Hopefully, he can get his mind right and come back strong next season.
