Video: Chris Paul’s game-winning drive and layup

Apr 12, 2012, 1:56 AM EDT

This play is so fantastically Chris Paul.

He dribbles out as much clock as he can, not starting his move until there is 5 seconds left. He goes away from the pick so as not to go into the trap. He gets around his man then makes a little ball fake like he might pass to Caron Butler in the corner to freeze Russell Westbrook just enough. Then he hits the pretty little rainbow floater over the big man help.

Great shot, huge 100-98 win for the Clippers (on a night the Lakers and Grizzlies both won, keeping the middle of the Western Conference tight and the “I don’t want to face Memphis in the first round” dance between the two Los Angeles teams going).

Sorry, but any list for this season that has Deron Williams and not Tony Parker on it is categorically incorrect. D. Williams has been mailing it in this season and Parker has been nothing short of spectacular. Also Rose has probably not been a top 10 player this season though this is largely due to injuries. I’d drop him for Kevin Love (who really is pushing the top 5 at this point). I’m assuming your list is not in order, because any top 10 list of current players that doesn’t start with either Lebron, Durant or C. Paul is not too accurate.

Uh… that was a ridiculous travel.

    And a lucky shot.

If that’s so “fantastically” Chris Paul, then he needs to work on his game.

I’m not sure Perkins should’ve been the one coming out to double.

He traveled! Refs must of been paid off.

What the heck was Griffin doing at the end of that play? I thought he got hit in the face, but now it looks like he was doing some acting.

Ahh, turns out he hit himself in the face and flopped.
