Arenas would be smart to let that story just die and stay out of the limelight. By the way Crittenden is not in jail but he made bail and is presently awaiting trial on those murder charges.

With all due respect Kurt, you know if this story comes up again and Gilbert talks about it again, that there will be another PBT posting on it. Like you say yourself in your Heat articles, ESPN and PBT will keep posting whatever gets the most clicks. I don’t fault anyone for that, it’s only natural. But it’s a little disingenuous to act as though you’re completely above the dirty/gossip-type stories and that you just want to “move on” when it’s clear PBT will keep posting the story, as long as the players keep bringing it up and it will draw in traffic.

As a wiz fan I’m happy Gil has settled in nicely with Memphis. If you’re not final with him he’s a guy who has twice in his basketball career (high school and with the warriors) pretty much been told he wasn’t good enough to play. Both times he left the teams and proved them to be completely wrong. Unfortunately that’s how he decided to handle most things, in a very self confident to the point of stubbornness and arrogance way. That’s why he took three years to get back from his knee injury, the guy wouldn’t let team doctors touch him.

He did screw us back into the stone age as a team, and I’m still mad about that. However, he was always a positive figure in the community and did a lot for fans while he was here.
