Hey Bozo, by your logic the Lakers win over the Celtics in the finals shouldn’t really count either since the Lakers won with Perkins out.

And Thibs took his defensive mind with him? Then why do the Celtics STILL have the top rated defense. It seems their defense improved when Garnett got there and they remain good because Garnett is STILL there.

Agree about Doc. When the Celts upset the Lakers in 08 it was clear that Doc out coached the Zen master throughout the series. People can point to Bynum being out in 08 but he had Been out since mid- January whereas the Celts lost Perk in the opening minutes of Game 6 in 2010 when they were up 3-2. Difficult to recover or adjust when you have no time to prepare.

Doc Rivers is NOT overrated as a coach. If you want an overrated coach I give you Mike D Antonio. But I digress. Doc made two brilliant moves that have made the C’s better. 1. Moving KG to center, 2. Making a great shooter his 6th man. Great coaches make sometimes unpopular moves for the betterment of their team. That’s EXACTLY what Doc has done. I hate the C’s but I hate the “Heatles” even more. Looking forward to watching Miami sulk off the court AGAIN this season. Maybe Wade and LBJ will join Posh in falling down and crying this time.

It says that the Heat are overrated. But my comment was that they won’t get past the Bulls, so the Heat aren’t an issue here. Either way, no team in the East will beat the Western Conference champion anyway.

Flipped the switch in 2010? I must have missed the part where they won the title…oh wait, they didn’t.

All they have is a one-and-done title in 2007, that they won mostly because Andrew Bynum was hurt in the Finals. The Celtics haven’t won squat since Coach Thibs left and took his defensive mind with him. Doc Rivers is so overrated and so are the Celtics. Enjoy the spiral down the drain.

I wasn’t aware that outcomes of games were decided by the combined average age of the two teams playing each other. Last time I watched a game it was determined by who scored the most points.

The “ancient” Celtics have the best defense in the NBA. What does that say about the youthful Heat?

Yeah but LeBron plays by different rules (take 4 steps and get a foul called by the defender sending him to the line). At what point will the officials just let the Heat inbound the ball to him and let him run down the court like a running back without dribbling at all?

They may have not abused LeBron as far as stopping him from scoring his 36 but they abused him and the rest of his team the entire night. Let him have his 36 points. Stats are what matters, right? That’s why the Heat cruised to their championship last year.

I’m looking forward to all the excuses that are sure to come from the “Heatles” and their pathetic bandwagon fans after they get eliminated in the 2nd round of the playoffs. If you think there’s a magic switch the Heat can flip that will give them a bench, make Chris Posh a real power forward, and turn their role players into something more than scrubs, you will be sadly disappointed. LBJ is proving to be a prophet……..not 1, not 2, not 15!!!! Nope, no titles. And when the “Heatles” fail again this season, next year the pressure to win really goes up!! Meanwhile Mr. Fragile himself, D. Wade, is a year older and the Bulls and OKC are a year better. If Riley’s smart he’ll try to trade for D. Howard and team him with LBJ. Move Wade to make it happen if he must.

your dead wrong. The regular season matters, especially in a 66 game sprint. Last year, the Celtics were the best team in the league, by far, for the first 50 games(it isnt debatable, look up their record) but they faded due to injuries. This team has injuries too, but they keep getting better. Bass, Bradley, Steimsma, Pietrus, these are all guys that werent there last year. The Celts bench was awful last year and had no chemistry. This group does, and now they have Ray as a 6th man. The Heat want nothing to do with Boston.

The Heat beat the Celts last year for 1 reason- 4th qtr scoring. The Celtics missed shots, the Heat didn’t. Now with Bass, Bradley and possibly Peitrus back, this Celtics team can hit open shots, they cut well and they have the guards to cover Miami. If they play Chicago, they need to box out better. The Celts are for real. 2010 was only 2 years ago.

you are so clueless. Do you even watch the games? Were you asleep in 2010 when this “old” team flipped the switch in April and went to the finals? You just don’t know the game. Older teams win in the playoffs. This isn’t opinion, it is fact. KG, Ray and Paul are not the Old Big 3 like in 92. They are better athletes than those guys ever were. The Celtics are going to be in the conference finals, write it down. I said it before the year started and I am still saying it. Am I still wrong about Avery Bradley? I got attacked on this site in December for my Bradley comments. Hmm, guess I was right. Shocking.

The bulls would be the hardest matchup for the celtics bc they rebound and have depth the 2 things the celtics lack but d rose is always hurt this year and the bulls are not a great offense team, the celtics are more than capable of beating them as well…
