Not to defend Howard or his effort, because he clearly wasn’t himself last night, and the entire circus down in Orlando is a result of his actions completely. That being said, he was just returning from an injury (depending or whether or not you believe he was hurt in the first place). Plus this season, even before all of the drama, Howard has struggled vs Tyson Chandler. Scoring 12, 8 and 8 points respectively in the three games they’ve played this season. I have no clue who will win, because sports writers have shown a history of letting immature actions off the court affect voting, but there may be a good chance Chandler could win Defensive Player of the Year. Again, not likely due to Lebron and Dwight’s play, but the more Howard continues to play like this, he can almost kiss that award goodbye.
