I’m all for the guy pursuing his dreams (and another sucker to offer him a paycheck), but when you’ve had to have this much surgery on your legs at this young an age, it’s probably time to just hang it up.

He seems like a nice, young, humble kid, and if he wasn’t foolish with his money should be fairly well set for life. I would’ve loved to see him pan out as a great center, but at this point he should just make sure he can walk in his old age.

Of course he does, hes an uneducated college dropout. Where else is he gonna get a job that pays him 100′s of thousands of dollers a year to sit on a bench n be hurt. You think McDonalds is gonna pay him to sit there injured………?

He’s obvs gonna comeback, maybe have his skill, but has to take 4 weeks to restart. Then starts and tears through the NBA. I’m feelin a comeback. C’mon Oden, you can do it!

I would love to see this kid salvage a couple seasons, anyway. He worked hard, played hard, by all accounts isn’t an idiot….

Those guys are in short supply in the NBA.

Exactly. Why wouldn’t a team bring him for the minimum? Unless it prevents them from signing a legit back up who’s shown health.

I’m a believer in u get out what u put in and this kid has heart. He’s tried but truly his body had other plans. Whatever he does I pray a special angel to watch over him in Jesus name!!!

Why not try a comeback, at this point of his career he could be a servicable backup. He will never be able to play starters minutes, but can be quality backup.

So Oden’s agent is Conley sr. or Chris haynes? Come on now get it right. At first read I thought it was Mike Conley the current Memphis pg who said that, not his dad.

@fnc111 im not sure i understand the comment you made completely. You do know that Clarett was dismissed by the football team for excepting impermissible benefits and it had nothing to do with being injured. They are completely different situations.

Perfect case of why it’s smart to leave school early. Oden is set for life financially now. If he stayed a soph year this could’ve happened in college and he would end up like Maurice Clarett, dropping out of school and end up broke.
