He’s a good NBA coach and deserves better than to be thrown under the bus like this.

Stan isn’t the reason why Orlando never won a title. They didn’t win because their GM hamstrung their franchise by doing stupid things like overpaying Rashard Lewis (tying up their cap space) and trading for Gilbert Arenas.

And Dwight bears some of the blame too. The guy never has become the truly dominant #1 option on offense who you can trust in the 4th quarter. He SAYS he wants to be that guy, but he isn’t yet.

Stan will probably do TV for a year or two like his brother. Then he’ll have no trouble getting another NBA head coaching job.

Dwight Howard is a better (and much more durable) player than Andrew Bynum and that will almost certainly be the case for the rest of their careers.

If you have the chance to trade for him, you should absolutely do it. Getting Dwight Howard might be the only chance you have to win another title during the Kobe Bryant era, and he’d be your franchise player after Kobe retires.

Yes, Dwight is a prima donna. But that shouldn’t stop you from trading for him. Talent is king in this league. Shaq was one of the most egotistical divas to ever set foot on an NBA court, and I seem to remember you winning 3 straight titles with him.
