Derrick Rose says he is out Thursday, will play Sunday vs. Knicks

Derrick Rose has said he will not play Thursday night as the Bulls take on the Celtics, but he will play Sunday when Chicago takes on the Knicks.

That according to a tweet from K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. Previously Coach Tom Thibodeau had said at his pregame media session (more than an hour before tipoff) that he did not know if Rose would play. Rose just started full contact practices on Wednesday following his groin injury.

Rose has now been out a dozen games. The Bulls have been able to hold on to the top seed in the east (thanks in part to the Heat slumping also) but have lost two in a row heading into Thursday night.

Sunday’s game against the Knicks carries importance as it very well could be a first round playoffs preview in the East. The Knicks are fighting to hang on to the eight seed as the Milwaukee Bucks make a charge.

Why Sunday? Then when we beat them, he’ll make an excuse and sit out the home and home and “rest” until the playoffs?

Mr. Wright, what has Rose done to you but kick your team’s ass?

The Bulls actually play better without out Rose….he’s a smaller version of Greg Oden, always hurt.

Wow, I don’t remember Greg Oden being MVP! That was the absolute worst comparison that you could even think of and shows that you are in “hater” mode or you really have no clue WTF you are talking about!

@kansacity88 you idiot, my comparison implies that both of them stay hurt!!!! Get a f#*?ing life you dork!

    • kansacity88 - Apr 8, 2012 at 3:12 AM

I believe YOU would be the dork to even TRY and make a comparison like that! NOT EVEN CLOSE! Rose has STAYED hurt for 21 games…..ALL this season. Oden? How many games has he missed over ALL his seasons? Pull you head outta your a$$ and just own up to the dumba$$ comment you made, f%#@& moron! Rose is like Oden, always hurt……LOL!! Right!! Not even in the vicinity of being a decent comparison. Stick to your day job or go whack-a-mole in you pants bitch, because you obviously know nothing about Rose or basketball in general to make a comparison like that. Like I siad before….you have no f&#$@ clue WTF you’re talking about! Beat it, slappy!

    To further prove my point:

On September 13th, 2007, during preseason before his rookie season, he underwent microfracture surgery to repair his right knee. He would miss the entire 2007-2008 season.
Oden managed to return from his first microfracture surgery only to have Andrew Bynum land on his foot on October 28th, 2008, injuring it . He would miss only two weeks, though.
Then on February 13th, 2009, he bumped knees with Corey Maggette and chipped his left patella . It was the first injury sustained to his left knee and he missed three weeks due to it.
He recovered from that and 2009-2010 was set to be his year. He was looking very much like finally the player he was supposed to be. Then on December 5th, 2009, he landed without contact on his left leg, and badly fractured his left patella . His recovery was projected to take him right up until training camp of 2010.
After missing training camp, preseason, and the start of the regular season , and after saying he wouldn’t return until he was 100% healthy but that he could still be an impact player and that he was not a bust, it was announced on November 17th, 2010 that Oden would undergo microfracture surgery on his left knee and would miss the entire 2010-2011 season. (courtesy of FOX SPORTS by the way)

Oden has played a TOTAL of 82 games since he was drafted…..compared to Rose who has played over 270 in his four seasons already. Again, DUMB A$$ comparison, even if you WERE trying to make a joke, but failed miserably! Thumbs down me all you want but I proved my point! I’m out!
