No way, Webber had more size and his offensive game was much more polish around the basket. Webber was also an excellent passer. But, Webber’s defense was not in the same league as Anthony Davis.

Cluelessdufus please name the kids who come out after 1 year and become busts because every data I’ve come across indicates a majority of them are either servicable rotation players or NBA starters/all stars.

I love how kids come out after 1 year and a lot become busts but Davis shows lots of promise and looks like a KG/Chris Bosh kind of guy

I love how all NBA analysts immediately follow the phrase “point guard” with the names “Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Deron Williams, Russell Westbrook”. They don’t even bother to mention Steve Nash anymore – only the leading assist guy in the NBA this season. The only guys who get talked about are the guys who put up the 35-point games on a consistent basis.

But I argue – who has the rings? Only two names come to mind: Derek Fisher and Tony Parker. Two guys who have played a traditional point guard role, who never approached games from a “me first” scoring role.

Kind of funny, that. Kind of funny…

Somebody call me when CP3, Rose, Williams or Westbrook wins a title. Cause I’ve got a secret for you – NBA titles are won by dominant big men, or by guys named “Jordan” or “Kobe”. Not by point guards who try to take over the scoring.

Call him Webber – Part Deux. If he goes (moot point), teams would play him at the 4.
The physical style of the NBA may cause him to struggle in the initial stages; but this guy has a lot of upside (not to forget his current skills). More importantly, he *seems* to have a good head on his shoulder (a Durant type humbleness and work ethic).

Even if he goes to the Bobcats, he should be good. I’d be leery of him being a bust if he wasn’t such an obvious number 1 pick. After all, we all know MJ’s rep for talent evaluation. (see Kwame Brown & Adam Morrison).

Considering he grew 8 inches in two years he’s still growing into his body. Even if he doesn’t bulk up considerably at worst he’s a hybrid KG/Camby which is scary
