Interesting how many people have opinions on Stoudemire’s back and none of them have medical degrees. Even the Doctor they did quote was smart enough not to diagnose a patient he had not seen yet. He has a bulging disk which can be managed. Surgery is the last resort and hopefully Amar’e doesn’t need it but if he does it’s a relatively minor procedure if the disk has not become herniated. BTW, that last sentence wasn’t a diagnosis for Stoudemire but a medical statement of fact straight off the WebMD page.

Kurt my man, get your facts straight and do your homework. Epidural injections for bulging or herniated discs are cortisone anti-inflammatory injections, not to be confused with nerve block injections for childbirth. Doesn’t always do the trick, but, Amare could be very effective and pain free if it reduces the inflammation enough. He would not be playing with just a numbed back as you say. Too late in the season to fix it surgically, it’s the only shot right now. You go Shump!
