Uhhhh…..do you watch any games but the Lakers? even some casual schmuck who listens to Sportscenter while he eats his breakfast knows that Love is clutch at crunch time. the game-winning 3 against the Clips and the 3 that sent the OKC game to overtime come to mind….

He obviously won’t win the MVP. But, it is nice to see him recognized in the conversation. That shows that he is among the top 10 players in the league. If he can even finish top 5 in the voting, that will put him in voters minds in the next couple of years if the team can keep improving and make him a more legit candidate (due to a better record).

He should be in the discussion, I don’t know if he should be the front runner. I’d like to see what the stats say at the end of the year before I change my mind on that. Its my understanding that to win in this present legue you need multiple stars, Kevin Love is all on his own in that category, especially since Rubio(though he isn’t there yet) went down. So it would be short-sighted to hold win totals against him. To me, he is closing in on the most worthy.

I agree completely.
Not to take anything away from Kevin Love – the numbers he is putting up are truly incredible.

But Dwight’s ability to dominate defensively is what sets him apart.
He can’t shoot jumpers, so he’ll never put up 50 in a game (without the other team just letting him do so) like Love can.
But the defensive impact he has on a team is remarkable. If you stuck him on the worst defensive team in the league, it’s almost guaranteed that they’d move up 15 spots in defensive efficiency overnight, and possibly more.

They’d go from a sub .500 team to a much worse sub .500 team? Easy game to play, I’ll one up you. Imagine if Dwight Howard went down an injury. Orlando would go from the 3 seed in the east to way under .500

Love should absolutely be the MVP. Right now no other team is as dependent on a player for their success as the TWolves are with Love. Imagine if he went down with injury. Hes keeping them afloat with the injury to Rubio and actually elevated his game. The Bulls are continuing to win despite the loss of their MVP showing the depth of that team as a whole. Lebron has 2 other All Stars to rely on to help prop him up. Kobe is in decline and while showing flashes of his brilliance has also cost his team by being a gunner and shooting his team into a hole. It wasn’t until Sessions came aboard that the Lakers fortunes have improved. The only other guy I think is close in value is Durant. I don’t believe that the MVP should always go to the best player on the best team
