Dr.Buss has talked with Phill about front office job. They want him to be the President of Basketball Operations. Position held till now from Jim Buss.He was offered also a scouting director position.
Phil is a smart dude. He is not going to coach in NY just from nostalgia. He always goes to a teams with 3-4 all star caliber players an a solid bench. What Knicks can offer him? Jeremy Lin is not Ch.Paul or D.Williams or D.Rose or R.Westbrook. He is just good scorer. Carmelo and Amare are already washed out players.T.Chandler is not Dw.Howard, nore A.Bynum. They don’t have any good pieces on the second unit. So, don’t full yourself Knicks fans. Phil is not going to take your broken squad. Remember. He is a smart dude.

if he came back to coach it would only be for a team like the heat or ok. city or a team with the talent already there to win it all, he has never coached a team that was not like that and won’t start now.

Honestly, if Mike Woodson keeps winning, stay with him. I know he didn’t win it all with Atlanta, but the team steadily improved. Also, the Knicks have more talent now than Atlanta ever did. So, improvement with talent can be a great combination. Except for Miami and Chicago (?) the Knicks can make a mark in the East before meeting these guys. Phil and his 11 championships would be nice, though…
