Are 90% of the population Professional sports ALL STARS ?

What he did is very commendable especially since he noticed the servicemen approach and saw them get rejected by their security. He could have just kept his headphones on and did nothing. Traveling is one of the grueling aspects of a professional athletes life.

Kudos to Lebron and to our brave servicemen and women.

No, it wasn’t confusing. It was a sports-related story involving a sports star reported by a vast number of sports reporters. If you didn’t hear about it from a sports reporter, you must not have been listening very well.

Maybe so, but you miss my point. Nothing special here. It is what decent people do. What’s more, it is what most athletes would do with no story. These types of stories will be written with great regularity because lbj is paying a rather expensive pr firm to place them. That is why he hired them a mere four weeks ago. Coincidence? Does not make him a bad guy, in fact it is a smart thing for him to do. Just wouldn’t have been at all necessary if he had not been a such a clown when he left Cleveland and threw a championship party in July.

Yes I am a Heat Fan, but I know this: yes lebron doesn’t have kobe’s winning attitude, yes ‘decision’ probably the dumbest thing this young man could possibly think of, yes the multiple championship thing with d-wade and the whole miami entrance. But i say this all the time, he breathes the same air as everyone else. He is a human being.

He’s been doing nice things like this for random people for years. But keep pretending that it’s all just an act.

He’s a nice guy and always has been. Does he have a huge ego? Was The Decision stupid? Yes. But he’s still a decent human being at his core.

Lbj just hired a public relations “strategist” in feb of this year. Getting sites like this one to publish fluff pieces with the sole purpose of making lbj the brand look good is what pr fims do. Expect plenty more of these totally spontaneous feel good lbj stories to keep coming out.

Odd how James fulfilled his contract and decided he wanted to play else where media makes up all kinds of stories to make him a bad guy. Nothing is said about Colts owner kicking out Payton, Seattle Super sonics owner running out on Seattle, No articles no nothing. Its ok for Saints coach to pretend knew nothing about bounty’s where are all the most hated articles about these guys. There is something wrong with how media reports issues on minority players versus white players and coaches wonder why that is.

everyone who serves deserves the respect from all of us who they guard. if it’s in afghanistan or peoria, it makes no difference. I thank them every day. I don’t particularly care for LeBron James, but he did the right thing and he should get the credit, just as he gets the goat when he does something we don’t like.

Like you said, he should do this sort of stuff regardless. All the time. Without any fanfare. They all should. After all, they play basketball for a living. Not exactly buried in a ditch in Afghanistan holding off the Taliban. I appreciate the story, but it doesn’t excuse Lebron’s stingy tipping habits among other things..

I was a waiter in Jacksonville FL way back when Shaq was with the Magic. He came into our little Italian restaurant with a few friends after a team practice at UNF. They ordered just about everything on the menu and the bill came to about $300. Shaq left $1,000 to cover the bill. He then volunteered to take photos with everyone in the place. Hard to forget Shaq-A-Claus in downtown LA.

Two big superstar athletes paid unbelievable amounts of money. Large difference in self-awareness and gravitas though. I don’t begrudge big money to star athletes. It’s the world we live in. But I do take exception to greedy behavior like that. Shaq made my month. And I tell anyone who will listen about the good deed he did for me. I’ll always love the Big Aristotle for that.

LeBron has a ways to go in the grace/humility dept. before I would even consider him in Shaq’s league. One photo opp with US service personnel doesn’t begin to scratch the service of what athletes like LeBron should be doing. All the time. After wins and losses.
