i think personal feelings are affecting your judgement…but that’s cool. i’m not here to sway/change your opinion.

as far as off court activity, i couldn’t care less what they do. its his life…just as no one is going “to cast stones” at you for some action you possibly did at some point. and that goes for every single person in the world. who are we to act like we are better people?

i just see it as this…kobe was lamar’s teammate for a long time. he knows how he works/plays. his input has some merit. if i had a question, for example, about how did John Lennon behave like when he was a Beatle…i’m going to ask Paul or Ringo…as they knew him very well. remember, this was a reporter asking this question to Kobe…he just gave his response. simple as that.

Its funny how fans have so much to say about the level of play a given player should be playing at… correct me if I’m wrong… Lamar has more Championship Rings than Dirk!!! Wasnt Dirk the subject of harsh critizism at one point in his career!!! How many more rings will Dirk gain before he retires… my guess is NONE. Send Lamar back to LA… lets then revisit this subject in June!!! Why wont Dallas buy him out of his contract, since he’s no good… dont answer – I already know the answer.

They should boo the whole Mavericks team. They are never going to win another title with Dirk, especially after J. Kidd retires.

As a Mav fan I was extremely excited to get LO. I understand the off the court mishaps (deaths and sicknesses) BUT he chose to play this year. HE chose to play through the pain. So WE choose to boo him when we see him half assing it. I really feel this is just a ploy to get back to LA. He deserves to be booed. We tried to give him a chance.

Im not being an apologist for Odom, I agree that he’s soft and may be distracted by off court happenings, in and out of his control, but I think Kobe may actually have a point. Some of it might be chemistry. Who among us hasn’t played a pick up game or been on a team that added a guy that you thought would put you over the top and turned out to be a dud. It happens all the time where a guy is garbage in one place and flourishes elsewhere (Jeremy Lin anyone?) so why cant the reverse be true?

For what it’s worth, I have suits older than you, and I’VE never seen a more mentally weak player. He may very well be done after this year. One guarantee: he’ll play lights out for the last two weeks of the season, so when he becomes a free agent, his agent can point to those two weeks and say, “look what he can do”.

Lakers cannot get him until one year to the day of the trade or the end of his contract, which one is closer. I believe he has another option on his contract for next year, so they cannot get him until December or so.

No excuse for playing poorly all season. Get over it Lamar. Until you do, you deserve every boo you get. Big baby got booed in orlando on several occasions this season. He had a couple deaths in the family within a month and his play showed it.. Lately he’s been more in tune. Now he’s cheered, especially for his EFFORT. Wake up Lamar or your wife might leave you too.

not sure how you came to that conclusion from his comments. the reporter asked him the question and he answered. huh, Odom and Kobe played for several years together so maybe they think Kobe has better insight than most other people..which he probably does with Odom.
