Michael Jordan returned to the NBA 17 years ago today

Mar 19, 2012, 3:02 PM EDT

Got a great reminder today from the guys at basketinside.com — they do a good job covering all that his happening in Europe — that it was March 19, 1995, that Michael Jordan returned to the Bulls after a couple of seasons swinging and missing at curve balls in the minor leagues. Seventeen years ago today.

Not that we need a lot of reason to run classic NBA videos, but this seemed a good occasion to pull out his return game video against the Pacers and run it. Enjoy a trip down memory lane.

Um, I think you mean 17 years ago.

I did and fixed it quickly. My mistake.

Thanks – I noted another typo in one of your articles today. You write interesting things. I’m not sure how rushed you are to get them posted, but I think your credibility will go up with just a little more proofreading. When I write, I read things backwards word by word. You’d be surprised how much you catch that way because you to slow down. Take it easy.

The greatest to have ever done, I remember getting home from church all excited. I still think he gets 2 more rings if he never left.

Is this the NBA’s Easter Sunday? Then he returned on the 3rd day from the grave?

Boy, you guys sure love pointing out typos.

Watched the video for Jordan’s 55 against the Knicks that year. Bill Wennington loves to talk about the time he and Jordan combined for 57 at the Garden.
