bushido – not saying that those players don’t exist. They are just more the exception than the rule. Notice that you had to go to guys who have been in the league for 20 years.

Hate to say it, but this guy isn’t a team player. Even his grandmother said to me in Cleveland that he wanted to go somewhere that he could be “the guy” for a team, preferrably in a warmer climate. Even her ego was trying to cash checks that he couldn’t live up to. IF he ever matures, he could be a really good player for some team, but first he would have to become coachable and not just rely on physical talent. Good luck to him.

I respectfully disagree. There are plenty of examples of players who finished their four years of college and went on to be productive professionals in the NBA. Grant Hill. Shane Battier. Those two come to mind because of their durability, especially Hill.

your argument ignores that almost no one has spent 4 years in the NBA. There are plenty of guys (outside of those who were high school to pros) who spent less than 4 years and became good NBA players. In fact, I would guarantee you that most solid to All-star players were less than 4 years.

This only supports my argument that if you want to be a good NBA player then you must remain in a program for four years. This will bolster college programs and make better quality NBA prospects/players.

And I understand about the Kobe’s, and LeBron’s as those are special players. Jermain ONeal was drafted out of high school. Nuff’ said.

Steve Kerr and Danny Ferry both have said this was never the issue but hack bloggers and forum commentors have overrode truth time and time again. People like Kurt kept promoting this theory and I wish Krolik would have addressed it.
