How is this not leading by example? Part of what Fisher fought for as the president of the NBPA was the right for players to choose which teams they play for as free agents. For some players this means warm weather, others just want as much money as possible. For players like Fisher, it means playing for a chance at a championship.

This article is so wrong that it’s insulting to ClutchFans and Rockets’ faithful!

We NEVER wanted Fisher in a Rockets uniform and a buyout was ALWAYS the route Morey was going to take.

Second, you’re article is factually incorrect because it was the Rockets who got the draft pick and not the Lakers.

The Lakers forced Fisher in the trade to dump his salary and we obliged knowing he would accept a buyout and be waived, and this was well documented if your site did real research outside of big market teams like LA and NYC. Do better work, at least reference Clutchfans.net before posting a story involving the Rockets.

I expect much better.

Thunder. He’s a veteran presence for the locker room and has inside knowledge of the Lakers, a team they’ll probably have to go through to get to the finals.

In part, I feel bad because Fisher loves being a Laker, just like Odom did. However, the reality is, Fisher is a bit player and got much more playing time than he ever should have considering his limited skill set. His role as a sharp shooter was significant to the Lakers but he was never much of a point guard. Now he is neither and he cannot defend anyone. Still, I would have liked to see him retire a Laker. Maybe when it is all said and done, he will come back to work for LA in some capacity. It just seems like that is what he is meant to do at some point.
