Good luck with putting lipstick on this pig. Matt Moore states that the objective is to rebuild through the draft, not get swept in the first round.

What exactly is it about the trade that was actually executed that leads one to think that the Hornets are now in a better position to rebuild through the draft? When you trade for assets that make you into a worse team, the value of those assets falls.

The assets that NO was going to get from the vetoed trade would have given them a team that would have gotten some wins and ENHANCED the value of those assets. There is nothing that would have prevented NO from flipping the players they had gotten into further trades for picks or other pieces to improve.

As it is, they not only do not have a team that can win (and thus generate revenue and increase the value of the franchise), but they also are NOT in a substantially better position to rebuild for the draft.

And Chris Kaman? The man is a thoroughly average center (14.5 PER career) who is going to be 30 in a month who has padded his stats (LOL!!) on losing teams his whole life. NO traded Chris PAUL for this??? Talk about a train wreck.

Good in two to three years is the objective.

Under the circumstances, maybe "good" should read "sold". They're not going to improve with 30 different owners.
