Howard will stab Orlando in the back. He doesn’t want to play there or would have agreed to terms by now so they could build around him. He’s not going to sign ANYWHERE which is why all the offers are lowball as well. Orlando needs to cut ties with this idiot and get what they can for him. Firing Van Gundy was just wrong. Howard is NOT showing ANY leadership by not committing to a long term deal. Orlando better face the fact he’s leaving and the sooner the better.

It doesn’t work only because Howard will not sign an extension to play in Boston.

Here’s the thing — Howard has played out his contract and this summer can choose to do what he wishes as a free agent. The Magic didn’t do enough to keep him, now they have to deal with the consequences.

Look nO offense to everybody who commented on this whole Dwight Howard discussion but even though it seems as though he’s playing around in this whole situation look at it from his point of view yes he’s planning on leaving but its also kind of hard to just walk away from something or somewhere you been your whole life people got mad at lebron for wanting to leave but how can anyone say anything if you were never in there positions if lebron would have stated in Cleveland and never got a ring you would not look at him the same way there just making family decissions If you were in there shoes you would do whatever it takes to take care of your family and see them happy it’s not like they stop giving back or said anything like the fuckin team suck ass all there saying is they want to when and if your a true fan or a winner or hate losing you will be able to understand as easy as that shit may sound its not a easy choice these man spent there whole lives in these places there still young it’s time for them to explore for anybody who tries to say I’m on there dick I’m not I’m just keepin it real and that’s real shit peace

I’m no Boston fan, but wouldn’t a deal of Garnett, Bass (maybe Ray Ray) and some picks for Howard and Turk get a deal done? I’m tired of players in the league running player movement. I hope by this time next year, a homegrown team like the Sixers are atop the league and whatever team Howard is on stinks. Unless, or course, Howard changes heart and signs with Philly.

Well said. I cannot for the life of me rationalize why he wouldn’t sign an extension with the Lakers if given the opportunity. They are, along with Boston, one of the premier sports franchises in the whole world. I’m not even a laker fan and I think it’s foolish to pass up on a deal there. He wants to expand his brand and branch out into other ventures. Not many better places to do that than Los Angeles.

Keep the coach, get rid of CA. If the Lin thing showed anyone anything, it’s that he was a “team player”. Sure, he made mistakes. But, they did far better than since CA has been back. They should try it for themselves. Put Lin in again and see that team fly. CA has not been a team player for anyone he’s worked with. Dump him out, bite the bullet, and get on with rebuilding a “team”. No one wins a championship without a team. Just ask Cleveland and they came dam close. If you can learn from that, they don’t deserve to win. Dump CA, he’s not going to do anything for anyone but himself. Coach or CA? Hum…can CA coach, good, cause you’ll need that since he can’t work with anyone anyway.

If Dwight doesnt commit or resign with Orlando by tomorrow noon then he needs to be traded. A 3 or 4 team trade is needed for the magic to get something decent in return. The nets have no good players to offer. They all suck except D. Will. Good luck with that scrubby team Dwight. You have a much better chance of winning a championship in Orlando. It’s obviously not about winning or $. It’s about playing in a bigger market. If you don’t win in brokelyn, yes brokelyn. They will boo your A$$. If I’m the Lakers, I roll the dice by keeping Andrew Bynum and betting on him staying healthy. From what we’ve seen from a healthy Bynum this year, he can put up just as impressive numbers as Dwight Howard with fewer touches on offense. And he’s not an offensive liabilty during crunch time. You can’t hack him and expect to get away with it. He’ll knock down most of his freebies.

I don’t know much about Dwight Howard the person but I am trying to reconcile what I knew of him coming out of high school. He was a super Jesus freak, talking about changing the NBA logo from Jerry West to the Holy Cross. Always seemed like a nice kid. But this nonsense is worse than The Decision, IMO. The Decision was a bullet to the head but to come out every week and say you’d like to play for this team or that is the ultimate b*tch move and a huge slap in the face to Orlando fans, especially having it all happen during the season when your team is in the playoff race.

Even this talk about not wanting to come to LA because he’d be following Shaq’s footsteps too much is laughable. Don’t want him, anyway. Drew has been killing it lately and he’s been through worse than Howard, being the subject of trade talks for better players for years now. Is he complaining? No.

Fan and team loyalty is really hard to come by these days. No wonder the NBA isn’t doing as well as MLB or the NFL.

I blame the NBA for making it possible for a team to gut itself and still have all those veteran’s minimums and midlevel exceptions that let them sign as many dudes as they want to complement their salary cap’s worth of 3 players.
