LeBron, Wade try to recruit Peyton Manning to Dolphins

Well, if Peyton Manning comes to Miami it’s not like he is joining a super team…

But the guys from Miami’s existing super team — the Miami Heat — made their pitch to get Manning to take his talents to South Beach.

First Dwyane Wade tweeted this:

I’m just gonna put it out thr..peyton that number 18 wld look gr8 in a dolphins uniform..steve ross let’s go.. marlins & heat style..All in

Steve Ross is the star-struck owner of the Dolphins, one of the many teams that apparently have made a pitch to Manning’s people.

Then after the Heat game Wednesday LeBron James — a big football fan — threw his weight behind the Manning to Miami movement, according to our man Ira Winderman at the Sun Sentinel.

“I’m just sayin’,” LeBron said. “Dolphins need a quarterback, and Peyton’s available….

“No, (Manning is) not a friend of mine,” LeBron said. “But I’m a Miami Heat player, and I want Miami sports to be great: The U, the Dolphins, the Marlins, the Heat, of course.”

Maybe Wade, LeBron and Chris Bosh should tweet a photo of them all sitting around an empty chair and say there is just one thing missing. It worked once before.

My guess is even if Manning comes to Miami, he’ll be a little less active on the South Beach social scene than Wade and LeBron.

You know what really grinds my gears? When people spell Peyton Manning’s name as Payton Manning.

my guess is peyton is Moe likely to land in Miami if those two clowns stay way from him.

    Clutch LeFraud has spoken……..

  4. tomtravis76 - Mar 8, 2012 at 8:59 AM

Come on , dude, you even have Mannings first named spelled correctly for you in the quotes. Its Peyton Manning, he is not some new name in the sports world. Just take a moment to review your work, please.

I particularly enjoy it when Kurt corrects his obvious misspelled words based on these comments, but never acknowledges them….and this guy gets paid to do this?

Yes, the same LeFraud you wish was on your pathetic team.

Hahaha, I always enjoy responses to comments, better than the comments itself. Hilarious

  8. clefanatic025 - Mar 8, 2012 at 9:49 AM

Yes he was also on my team and he still choked!..haha

  9. Kurt Helin - Mar 8, 2012 at 10:23 AM

Yes, I made a pre-coffee mistake and spelled Peyton wrong in the first headline. My bad.

For the record, an NBC editor pointed it out before anyone else and it was fixed, but it takes a minute for the change to show. So it stuck up there for a bit. All my fault.

Peyton Manning would immediately be the biggest star in Miami if he does what many expect will happen. We love Wade, Riley, James, Bosh, Haslem, and the rest of the awesome players for the Heat… but this is a football state, and South Florida is the capital of football in Florida.

old stiff neck might be taking his talents to south beach.

Nice grammar & spelling. Sounds like we need a tornado to wipe out you dumb inbreds.

Maybe he did choke but you still wish he was on your pathetic team. You guys should blame your owner & GM for not putting a good team together, not the basketball player who made your city relevant. Just saying.

If the Wade and LBJ actually do recruit Peyton Manning to the Dolphins, are they going to recruit hockey players to come play for the Panthers as well? Just saying, they are a major sports team in Miami…

  19. kappn - Mar 8, 2012 at 12:52 PM

Manning ain’t going to the Dolphs… lol.

  20. asublimeday - Mar 8, 2012 at 12:52 PM

“Peyton, it’s so great playing in a half-full venue with apathetic fair-weather fans!”

  21. mgscott - Mar 8, 2012 at 1:11 PM

Miami still has a professional football team ?

  22. 1972wasalongtimeago - Mar 8, 2012 at 1:37 PM

For the record, I’m against the Dolphins signing Manning. You never win Super Bowls in March (see exhibit 1- NYJ; exhibit 2- Wash).

I say trade whatever you have to for RG3. If that doesn’t work, stick with Matt Moore and try to trade down. If you can’t trade down, pick a pass rusher.

That being said, if the Dolphins sign Manning, I will absolutely talk myself into it being a great move.

  23. canehouse - Mar 8, 2012 at 1:59 PM

Yes a portion of our residents in South Florida show up when our teams are doing great…. but call us fair weathered all you want… one thing you can’t say is we are numb, and dumb. We have a lot of options down here and if a team down here is sucking wind… we don’t go, and eventually we get a better product on the field, court, diamond to bring us back. Would you keep going to your favorite restaurant of the service and quality of food dropped drastically?

  24. hawknuts - Mar 8, 2012 at 2:17 PM

Peyton and lebron can talk about their mvp trophies and choking when a championship is on the line as well as console each other. Then Peyton can have a laugh with dwayne wade about what its like to actually win a championship.

  25. canehouse - Mar 8, 2012 at 7:25 PM

LEBRON gets his NBA championship this season and the HEAT get the second Larry O’Brien trophy!!!!
