Top Dogs do not relinquish easily either. Magic came back, Jordan came back….it is part of who they are. They believe they can do things most of us would never dream of and usually they do. The three pointer at the end of regulation would serve as reason to further the belief and lead to further shots.

He is not LBJ and he does not defer! He is the Black Mamba, he is a killer! Even in real life the snake does not always hit its target. It does not make him any less deadly though, nor does it change his way of approaching prey. Kobe has never been a passer. But I do understand your frustration.

Then it had to be equally as painful to watch him hit the three pointer to send it into overtime. I mean you, know who he is and what he has done. As easily as he can win the game he can loose it. Most times The Lakers would not be in the game were it not for what he did.

As poorly as we may perceive them at times if you look at the efficiency ratings for the N.B.A. Kobe, Gasol and Bynum are in the top 11 and no other team can boast that.In rebounding they boast Bynum at #3 and Gasol at #9.

Look at the record at home, and that is trouble for anyone facing them in a slow down half-court set in the playoffs, when half the games are at home.

Or they could just get rid of D’Antoni and his live by the three die by the three offense and hire a coach capable of designing an offense that best uses its players. An offense:

that doesn’t rely on a point guard playing at a hall of fame level every night,

that does not begin with a high pick and roll every possession,

that involves post ups, down screens, and cross screens,

that allows Melo, Fields, Shumpert, and Smith to do more than stand at the three point line every possession,

and doesn’t have Amare play the stretch 4.

I got crushed on here before for questioning Kobe’s shooting efficiency, but the point is made in a game like this. Look, I get taking 25 shots when you hit 13, but when you’re off – DISTRIBUTE the ball to your awesome 7-footers who make 60% of their shots. CREATE the way Magic used to. Jordan only scored as many as he did because he didn’t have two All-Star 7-footers to play with. I love Kobe, but games like this are infuriating.

During the win streak, the Knicks looked like the D’Antoni Phoenix Suns on offense with a great defensive center.

D’Antoni’s offense requires 3 high percentage deep shooters.

The defense has to stay at home on the shooters; that opens the lane for dribble penetration; a pick and roll or pick and pop with dribble penetration. The dribble penetration leads to a lay-up, or lob to the roller, or kick out for the 3; depending on how defense reacts.

Melo, Amare, and Tyson are not high percentage deep shooters.
Their defenders are all clogging the driving lanes; shutting down D’Antoni’s offense.

I think the Knicks may be the most talented team in the east top to bottom (debatable okay) but they don’t fit well together.

Melo or Amare are going to have to go. I’ve been saying it since Linsanity started. I am a Knicks fan. I live in NY area. I don’t think the Knicks are gonna trade anyone now. A lot of people I talk to say “they have to have time to figure this out, develop chemistry”.

I don’t believe it.
Good offense in basketball is like watching transcendental geometry.
Right now, watching Knicks starting offense is like watching frankenstein.

The Knicks are just a weird team. They’re like some sort of Frankenstein’s monster of a roster created by a thirteen year old kid playing NBA Live while on a sugar rush. Is NBA Live still a thing? God, having to ask questions about video games makes me feel old. What has happened to my life? Regardless, point stands. Weird team. They had an off day on Monday while Dallas was playing an absolutely grueling emotional drain of a game that they ended up losing to OKC. And the Knicks are the ones who are down by 19 midway through this thing? I hope New York fans enjoyed that seven game winning streak, because I don’t really see another one of those in the team’s future. The sugar rush always wears off and leaves you wanting to take a nap. Always.
