Hawks pick up Dampier as insurance for rest of season

Erick Dampier

Eric Dampier isn’t brining a lot to the Atlanta Hawks the rest of this season. But the journeyman center provides some depth at a ravaged position in Atlanta.

The Hawks have picked up Dampier for the rest of the season, Marc Spears of Yahoo tweets.

Right now Zaza Pachulia is the starting center while everyone waits for the return of Al Horford. Jason Collins is still on the roster but is out a couple more weeks with elbow problems. Ivan Johnson is there, too, but that’s the kind of guy that has you picking up Dampier just in case.

By the way, Horford could return to non-contact work with the team soon but may still be a month away from stepping on the court following his torn pectoral muscle.

    I swear Kurt is either:
    1. hammered every time he writes anything
    2. dyslexic
    3. an elementary school drop out
…because he CANNOT spell to save his life

“Eric Dampier isn’t brining a lot to the Atlanta Hawks”

Really!? At least get someone else to edit your work if you flat out refuse to.

Dampie? Ok I can see that. But why they dont move Marvin Williams or force Joe Johnson to redo his contract is beyond me. Joe Johnson is not MAX contract material. Josh Smith I can deal with because he gets boards and pts… MARVIN AND JOE MUST GO….

You can’t “force” anyone with a guaranteed contract to do anything. That includes earning that contract.

Insurance against what? Making sure the bench doesn’t float away?
