Here is our daily look around the NBA — links to stories worth reading and notes to check out (stuff that did not get its own post here at PBT).

The Golden State Warriors have their eye on Brook Lopez (if that whole “trade for Dwight Howard” thing doesn’t work out for the Nets).

Ramon Sessions to the Hawks for Marvin Williams? It’s been discussed.

In a game of semantics, the Raptors say they are not shopping Jose Calderon, but they are listening to offers.

Looking at the remaining schedules of the playoff teams in the West — Dallas and Los Angeles have it tough.

On the other end of the scale, looking at who might be getting the most ping-pong balls come the lottery.

LeBron James sees a lot of Magic Johnson in his game.

Shawn Kemp thinks he was a better dunker than Blake Griffin… man, that is a close one.

Sacramento mayor Kevin Johnson returned from Orlando to a hero’s welcome at the Sacramento airport.

The NBA All-Star Game drew the second highest ratings of the last seven years. Which is not bad considering it was on opposite the Oscars.

Another Jeremy Lin song. This one a little more mellow.

The story of a woman who sort of knew Jeremy Lin in college and now all her friends want all the scuttlebutt.

The Celtics Jermaine O’Neal is going to see a hand specialist.

There was a time when Bobby Simmons was a rising star with the Clippers, a Sixth Man of the Year type guy. Things changed. Now he is up from the D-League with a 10-day contract from the Clippers.

The Grizzlies recalled rookie Josh Selby from the D-League on Monday.

Fantastic for Sacramento! They have a solid young nucleus and a playoff contender in the coming years.

    Go HEAT!!!!!

Shouldn’t LeBron win something before comparing himself to one of the greats? Didn’t Magic make clutch shots?

“Let the trade rumors begin”…followed by three half-ass trade rumors and nothing else. This season had the most stale “off-season” in reguards to trades and free-agent signings that I’ve ever seen in my life and leading up to the trade deadline has been even worse. I wonder if it has anything to do with Dwight Howard? I just want him to get traded ASAP just so we can get this ball rolling!
