This to me is why Danny Ainge bothers me to no end. Understanding that Ray Allen is a great player and is probably the most consistent piece of the Celtics offense this season, I understand the hesitation in just trading him for anything. But the fact that he is garnering attention should at least make Ainge aware that he has a commodity and should look to maximize their value before the trade deadline. Instead, he’s looking to trade Pierce and Rondo because… yeah, I have no idea either.

twolves probably aren’t in the talks but i think a knockdown, off the ball jump shooter like ray makes them a tough team to beat. ricky can continue to extend ray’s career and with pek and love holding down the paint the wolves need a guy that can make open shots in the worst way.

I don’t think the Celtics will move him this year. Ainge is still trying to figure out what they can do when healthy. If they tank in the postseason, they will likely blow it up anyway. Him coming off the books makes the rebuilding process easier.
