I have never liked Monta Ellis and that is for several reasons.

1. Full with tatoos all over his body.Looks like getto trush.
2. He is too selfish as a player.
3. He is just a scorrer. He does not make his teammates better.
4. He does not play DEFENCE at all and I don’t know how that can fit in coach Brown system.
5. He is well over paid. A person with average of just 22 ppg and 5.9 apg, should not make $ 11.0 mil.
And he has 2 more years under contract for the same amount.

I think, Stephen Curry is far better choice for the Lakers. If that can not work, then just look for somebody else. There is too many better PG’s in this league, than that garbage Monta Ellis.

However you look at it Ellis is good..when I watch GS play a game is like he’s an outsider..I believe there is bad chemistry there. whether its Ellis, another player or Mark jackson.. I see them rebuilding or repairing their team with out him.. And anyone who watches a GS game can see it… I hope he can go somewhere, where he can show people he has the killer instincts…but he will need to go to a team where he can lead and offense..And yep his stats my hurt GS i trying to get a superstar for him..I don’t think they will get Howard for Ellis..Unless they give up enough players to at least leave orlando still in playoff contention

agreed with smooth. Ellis and Westbrook are almost the same offensively – both can score at will and get about any shot they want. But Westbrook has more athleticism and is a far better defender…

GS will never get equal value back in trade for Ellis…which is why he’s still with them. If you have a team like the late ’90s Sixers with a pure scorer (Iverson) and players which complement him fit works, but GS doesn’t have anything close to that. They should take the best offer they get, within reason, and move on. Ellis is not a superstar and is not going to elevate your team. He’s just not that guy.

Monta is the #7 leading scorer in the league. The only other SG’s in the top 10 are kobe and westbrook.

Most people that have made comments suggesting he is not a star player, only watch big market teams play, don’t have cable or better yet NBA League Pass or maybe they don’t have a t.v. at all.

He is a more potent scorer than all the guards you can name, that you consider great or even a superstar – D. Williams, D. Rose, T. Parker, D.Wade, CP3, K. Irving, B.Jennings, J.Wall, S.Nash, Tyreke Evans,Ty Lawson,Jason Terry, Ricky Rubio and even J.Lin

There are only 6 other guys that score more points per game than him, in the ENTIRE league !

Think about that for a second. Apply a little common sense. Then feel free to agree, the guy is a star and if he was on a better team, he’d be a superstar !

I don’t know why you are bringing up ancient Timberwolves rumors. That was talked about before we made the Derrick Williams pick and before Pek’s recent stellar play. A good SG is easier to find than a good C. And yes, I know Ellis is a better SG than Pek is a C.

I agree to an extent, but only because the warriors arent winning. Monta is playing awesome this year. I wouldnt settle, but I dont feel like we will get a huge star in return

Monta is money, he is no worse than westbrook who is somehow in last weeks MVP poll. I think he’s better and if the warriors had a better team, he wouldnt have to shoot like he does. Watch a few games then talk ish about him.He’s been ballin for a good five years now if you disagree you havent been watching at all

If the title of the aricle is correct about the Warriors seeking a superstar for Monta, then the Warriors have already lost. How can you demand a superstar for a player (Monta Ellis) who is nowhere near superstar status? Monta is a scorer and nothing more. His defense is laughable, and he doesn’t make his teammates better. To get a superstar, the Warriors will need to include Monta, a few more players and a 1st round pick. The article talks about the Warriors not wanting to get ripped off, but expecting to get a superstar straight up for Monta would be the Warriors trying to rip other teams off.

FG% is just one metric to measure scoring efficiency and yes by that metric Chandler is a FAR more efficient scorer this year: the sky is actually blue. By any metric Monta is garbage: 155th in true shooting percentage, 62nd in points per shot. By ANY metric he is a well below average scorer. And let’s not forget that he is among the worst defenders in the NBA.

Show me one statistic that rates Monta above average in scoring efficiency. 22 PPG is useless without putting it context of how efficient those 22 points are coming. Would you call Brandon Jennings among the best 3 point shooters in the league because he is 3rd in 3 pointers made? No of course not because it takes a 32% clip for him to get there

So by your logic, Tyson Chandler must be a better scorer cause he shoots 70% from the field this season? Give me a break! You have obviously never seen a Warriors game! Monta Ellis a pure scorer and a damn good one! He can break down defenses with his crossovers and slashes to the rim! The only reason why his % is relatively low is because he likes to shoot 3s. And for what it’s worth (since you love stats), his career fg% is just shy of 47%.
