Charles Oakley pretty much thinks that everybody is a wimp

Charles Oakley

Charles Oakley was on Jim Rome’s radio show today, and the former Bulls big man had some choice words for Kevin Garnett, Charles Barkley, and Kendrick Perkins. Here are the highlights, courtesy of Larry Brown Sports:

“Garnett left Minnesota and hollered and screamed and all that but hes not a tough guy,” Oakley said as Sports Talk Network shared with us. “He’s one of the weakest guys to ever play the game. He’s a complimentary player and went to Paul Pierce’s team and won a championship. I wouldn’t consider him a top 10 tough guy…

…“Barkley, for his size, was a good player but he’s a coward,” Oakley continued. “He was a good player for his size, but he wasn’t a leader and wasn’t a role model. Now he talks so bad about younger guys. I don’t respect that from him. He’s a fraud. He can criticize all the younger kids and if he got something to say, call them and talk to them before you just blast them. He’s wants to be funny, that whole TNT thing and all that, they’re like some clowns on that show”…

…Oakley wasn’t done there. He also said that Kendrick Perkins is similar to K.G. in that all he does is holler and complain, and that the Thunder would win championships if he would just play basketball. Oakley added that Perk’s attitude is the reason he got dunked on by Blake Griffin, and said throughout his 19-year career he only got dunked on three times. Somebody check the tape on that, please.

Oakley, who was named to both the All-Defense team and the All-Star team as a member of the famously physical New York Knicks in 1994, spent the 1st few years of his career as Michael Jordan’s teammate and unofficial “enforcer,” and Jordan was famously enraged when then-Bulls GM Jerry Krause traded Oakley for Bill Cartwright before the Bulls went on their historic title runs. By most accounts, Oakley and Jordan remain good friends, but it doesn’t look like he’s looking to make many new ones.

Funny seeing how many KG haters there are.
I bet every single one of you wishes you had him on your team.
He carried that pathetic T Wolves team to the WCF single handed.

He’s one of the hardest working, toughest, psychologically controlling players of all time.
He is one of the greatest defenders in the history of basketball and still punks bitches like Charles Oakley on a nightly basis in the NBA at age 35.
Charles is just jealous because he isn’t half the man, the talent and doesn’t have an ounce of the heart that Kevin Garnett does.

In 50 years time who’s gonna remember Charles Oakley? Maybe Spike Lee and New York Knicks die hards? The IRS for all the money he owes them? This guy is already broke, trying to sue a casino for getting his ass beaten for acting up like the ‘bitch’ that he’s calling these guys.
Looks like KG got inside Oakley’s head too.
KG is one of the GOAT’s.
Keep hating while KG makes 21 million as a reward for years of hard work and hustle that most of you losers couldn’t dream of conjuring up.

KG was always good, But G.O.A.T, Naw I’ll pass. For all of that screaming and Yelling, He’s still wasnt better than Karl Malone, Barkley, Duncan, Rodman, Nowitzki, McHale or Kareem Adul Jabbar.. I’m just saying…

I don’t hate KG. But I see him for what he is : washed up! The Celtics will get rid of him because he is soft, embattled, and way overpaid. Other than that I like KG.

Much love and respect for Oak

Everybodys’ a wuss except for me, Charles Oakley!
What a freakin’ joke! Yeah Oak, you were a tough guy in your time, with limited basketball IQ and even more limited basketball skills. You got by because you played a physical brand of ball, big effin’ deal! Players like you are a dime a dozen; come into a game, rough some people up, corral a few loose rebounds, score a few garbage points, then thump your chest like your some legit tough guy. I ain’t buyin’ it! And yeah, I saw your teams play back in the day! That was some butt ugly basketball! Nowadays, you actually have to have some skill! Oak, in today’s league you’d be a scrub, the guy they put in the game to collect a few cheap fouls! Get over yourself already!

Funny KG couldnt win back then either!!!!!

  4. dixx8ball - Feb 22, 2012 at 10:26 AM

yeah Oakley you were such a tough guy….like the team u sucker punched Jeff McGinnis while he was sitting on the bench… real tough…

your garbage game of dirty tactics wouldn’t make it in today’s NBA.. Players can’t get away with the cheapshots you did back in your day.. therefore they might not look like so called “tough guys”

remember when you thought you were tough in Vegas and tried to force your way into the VIP section and the bouncers whooped your arse… oh yeah your the tough guy that sued them…

I can only figure he’s running low on funds and he’s hoping somebody will give him a job somewhere…. obviously he’s jealous of Barkley and what he’s been able to do for himself..

    what a bum

    • solomon151 - Feb 22, 2012 at 1:27 PM

So getting beat up by a few bouncers (meaning more than one) Means he’s not tough?!?!?! The league is soft nowadays. In some cases you cant even look at some of these guys. Do you think LaBron would be able to run over those guys back in the day like he does now?!?!?! He wouldnt have lasted against those Piston’s or thoes Knick teams. Much like the NFL, the NBA has gotten soft. If you didnt like Oakleys antics back then, why applaud a guy that tries to Intimdate people just like he did.

Scottie Pippen dunked on him atleast 5x’s alone.

    • solomon151 - Feb 22, 2012 at 8:35 PM

      Scottie dunked on everybody!!!! Lol
