Portland had a chance at Michael Jordan and Kevin Durant and drafted Sam Bowie and Greg Oden. Has any franchise in NBA history messed up more then them?? I don’t think so. Tough to top those mistakes. Let this be a cautionary tale on teams who think they HAVE to draft the big man just because he’s a big man!

Grant Hill carries about 100 less pounds of weight in his knees than does Oden. Greg Oden is done. He managed to walk away with more than $50 million from the NBA, so I don’t particularly feel bad for him.

he may be done but don’t you actually have to play before you are labled a bust? I fail to see how his body failing him is his fault. like he waited till he got his payday then decided his knees should go bad.he just got dealt a bad hand but happened to get rich before it got handed to him. if he did not care about the game why would he put himself thru all the surgeries and rehab?

Waive the white flag Greg, just give it up. He will never play another NBA game again. People need to stop pretending like he will someday and he needs to just worry about himself and if he will be able to do something so simple that you and I take for granted everyday like just walking around the house. I just hope he doesn’t own a 2-story.

I hope Greg Oden eventually makes it back to the court, but let’s be real. That’s not in the cards. And Portland looks dumber by the day. Oden had the typical big-man injury issues in college. And isn’t one leg longer than the other? No offense, but passing on Durant to gamble on a big man you know is injured is just stupid.

Dude needs to forget about the NBA, and just concentrate on being able to walk without the help of a walker before the age of 30. It’s over. It’s been over for almost 4 years people.
