Because I think that two weeks doesn’t make an all-star? Good player, but two weeks of sensationalism shouldn’t dictate who does all star events. Has nothing to do with race, so your Mayweather comment doesn’t apply.

While I agree with you in theory, lets be honest here. This is the fresh/soph game! When was the last time anyone has been excited about watching one of these games? When was the last time a player added that to his resume of accomplishments? There will be no complaining or bellyaching from anyone because he clearly belongs in the game.

At the end of the day, this event is an entertainment event for the fans. And fans want to see Lin. It would be silly of him to say no.

If Lin is smart, he’ll decline any and all invitation from the league to attend any All-Star events. After witnessing the backlash against Tebow from his peers, because of all the perceived unearned hype, I hope Lin is smart enough to learn from the Tebow situation. Let the media saturate the market with over-the-top hype, but don’t add to it. He’ll be shunned like the plague from his peers if they view him as preening for more media attention. Just let the dude play the dang sport and let things pan out. It’s getting beyond ridiculous.

I don’t get this. Yes, he’s played above the skill level he was projected at. BUT, it has only been almost 2 weeks. What, 7 games? That hardly makes someone deserving of changing the rules for anything, let alone for something at All-Star Weekend. If you want to include him, the Shooting Stars competition is spot on, but don’t force him into a game.

Add Jeremy Lin and Nikola Pekovic. Both deserve it. Pekovic has started the last 9 games at center for the wolves and has averaged 17.1 points, 9.8 rebounds. 6 of those 9 games were double doubles.

Add Lin to the Soph team, and another rookie to the Freshman tea, Maybe Jimmer Fredette – I know he hasn’t really done much so far in his NBA career, but maybe the NBA could cash in on some left over Jimmermania.

Yeah! I enjoy these Soph/Frosh games, & the playground pick system sounds fun, but the NBA itself will be missing out on an opportunity if the play this game without Lin.
