Facebook drive started to get Will Ferrell to do All-Star Intros

Feb 10, 2012, 3:42 PM EDT

Will Ferrell killed it in New Orleans doing the introductions with the Bulls/Hornets game the other day…

Why not have him do the player introductions at the All-Star Game in Orlando at the end of the month?

There’s now a Facebook page/campaign where you can like the idea, with the goal of showing so much fan support that the NBA gives in and has him does it. (Hat tip to KD at Ball Don’t Lie.) Which is not going to happen. I’d love it to happen — big Will Ferrell fan here — but it’s not going to happen. Ferrell can be unpredictable; the league doesn’t like unpredictable on its biggest stages.

But go ahead and like this anyway. Can’t hurt.

    nice.

An I the only one that thought it wasn’t that funny?

    • AlohaMrHand - Feb 10, 2012 at 4:27 PM

      probably .

No. You’re not the only one, because no one in the crowd laughed either. The players didn’t give a ****. It was awful. If you’ve watched five minutes of Will Ferrell footage from 1998, you’ve seen everything he has to offer.

I didn’t find it the least bit humorous as well, but since it’s Will Ferrell that automatically makes the best thing in comedy.

No, not at all. Will Farrell is an @$$. He’s not even remotely funny. He has some funny lines in some of his movies, but that’s only because of the writers of the script. Listen to him in an interview some time. He tries to be funny, but his comments clearly show who deserves the credit for his “humor”… and it ain’t him. This guy is an idiot to the nth degree. If I find out he’s doing the All-Star lineups, I’ll find something useful to do during that time, like take a dump or something.

No. I don’t find too much of what he does funny. In order to be funny it has to be scripted and border on stupid.

for it.But he has to dress like Jackie Moon

      Thumbs up x10

  4. goforthanddie - Feb 10, 2012 at 4:54 PM

And get Madonna to do the halftime show. Or not, to both.

  5. fatbaby81 - Feb 10, 2012 at 6:41 PM

    Jackie Moon, LoL

It wasn’t funny because you don’t really know those players well personally. All-Star Game would be much better because we know more details about those players.

This guy was not funny at all. Watched the whole thing twice without laughing. I’d rather watch paint dry. Kevin Hart can do 100x better.

I don’t find Ferrell very funny either for the most part, and this was definitely not even remotely funny.

    Haters

Will Ferrell is a writer on many of his films. YouTube him as tiger woods at the ESPYs, and then he and John c Reilly making demands for the next ESPYs. Gold.

    NOOOOOOOO!!!!

Please, no!! It was a nice idea, but it didn’t work. He had the look of someone that didn’t really want to be there and was phoning it in. It wasn’t funny. It does not need to be repeated, especially on the big stage of the All Star Game.

Ferrell can be funny, but he wasn’t in this case.

“He still loves Bell Biv Devoe.”

    Classic!!

    “That girl is poison
Never trust a big butt and smile”

    Truer words were never spoken…
