I know he’s considered a “glue guy”, but Rondo is not a snub. I have a better outside shot than he does, and that’s NOT an exaggeration. I also don’t view Rubio as a snub either. He needs to prove himself more, although there are obviously plenty of examples of deserving first year players making it to the All-Star Game. Just haven’t seen enough of him to be convinced… yet.

Actually, the biggest snub this year is Josh Smith, period! He’s has been the best Hawks player, hands down this year. The Hawks record is good, they’re winning and their best player stays home? Really???

To me, you take Josh Smith and leave Joe Johnson at home. Josh deserves it more than Joe does.

As a sixers fan, I love the support, but that’s ridiculous. I don’t want this to turn into another argument about Lebron, and trust me I’ve hated the guy since he was in high school, but he is a much better candidate than Iguodala. The whole point of what the sixers are trying to do is play team-oriented basketball. There isn’t one guy that’s carrying the team 9thus no MVP candidate). If you took Iguodala out of the lineup, you’d put Evan Turner in, and they might not even skip a beat. They’d be a little worse defensively and their bench wouldn’t be as strong.

And honestly, if you look at his numbers, they’re actually the worst they’ve been since 05-06. He’s still putting up good numbers, but he had much more deserving years earlier in his career, he just never got the attention he deserved.

Iguodala’s game has really matured this season, which I believe has as much to do with the Sixers being a legitimate contender in the East this year as anything. He’s finally figured out how to control the game without having to lead the team in scoring every night. He’s as close to a complete player the league has seen since Scottie Pippin. He’s good for 16-6-5-2-2 on any given night, and he shuts down the other team’s leading scorer. He’s a better MVP candidate the LeBron, IMHO. Take Iggy off of the Sixers and where would they be?

I HATE “lifetime achievement” selections. (I’m looking straight at you, Dirk!) Garnett a snub!? Who the hell are you kidding!? The biggest snub out east was someone who wasn’t even mentioned. (Branon Jennings) Rudy Gay got robbed.

If everyone in the media/NBA goes off the premice that players from the best teams get the nod (I don’t agree with it, it’s called an all-star game for a reason), then how the hell does no one get picked from the Nuggets?? Does that rule not apply out west cause if that’s the case, Monta Ellis got snubbed. Dirk really really REALLY shoudn’t be there. but you know who should be?

The NBA is a joke i understand the bucks r in the bottom of the east. but Brandon Jennings is playing his arse off and should have had a hell of alot more cosideration then he got but ratings is all that matters to the nba so they had to use a bunch of old guys with recognizable names and big superstars. i wont b watching.

oh absolutely. if he wanted to and was willing to work on it, he has the athleticism to be an elite wing defender, but you can’t give the guy the title because he has the talent to do it. You have to look at execution and frankly I’d trust Iguodala to shut down Kobe, before I trusted Lebron to do it.

I was with you until you said that Deng and Iggy were worse wing defenders than Lebron. I will admit that Lebron’s D has improved, but Iguodala is on another planet defensively. Take away the Lebron aura and he’s a pretty good defender. Iguodala is elite. He prides himself on the defensive side of the ball. Guys like Tony Allen are elite defenders too, but because of their lack of offense they don’t get the kind of minutes Lebron does.

15 and 8 with an efficiency rating ranking in the 30th range doesn’t do it for me, especially since he’s not any kind of special defender. Plus, who would you take off? Deng and Iggy both put up similar numbers while being the second and third best wing defenders in the league after Lebron, plus, both their teams are better than the Hawks.

That’s not fair. The all-star team is one of the few things in sports where individual achievement should matter most. An All-Star is a PERSON who is playing well, not a team.
