Can I please say that that first of all he DID NOT cross John Wall over. If you watch the video clearly, John Wall saw the pick and roll coming so he played the screener expecting his teammate to pickup Lin. THAT DOES NOT MEAN HE GOT CROSSED OVER. He was simply trying to play SMART basketball on defense but his teammates didn’t want to get involved. If you watch nba games closely you will see this play happen a million times but no one gets as much hype about it as Jeremy Lin because he’s a new face. SMH

Yeah, what a positive article: a weak admission that Lin “has some game” followed by about five negative qualifiers after the guy has been on an absolute tear for the last week. No bias here at all!

Was going to point out the same thing. If it wasn’t for Wall’s porous defense in the Vegas summer league in 2010, Lin wouldn’t have had a huge game against a huge name and would have never been known. Good for Lin: Wall has probably helped his career out more than anyone else’s.

Having watched Lin play a lot since that Summer League game against John Wall, it’s not difficult to see that Lin’s biggest problem early on on his career was that he played too fast and out of control. Once the game slowed down for him, as has happened to him with the Knicks, his skills have really come to the forefront. He has very good point guard instincts. And he keeps attacking the defense, even after he’s missed a few shots in a row. Players, like Lin, who have both the instinct to attack defenses and the ability to both pass and finish at the basket, tend to have long NBA careers. I think his defense is unerrated to. He played great defense against Deron Williams the other night. Williams himself admit that after the game.
