Funny how you can hate a player for years & years, then read something like this and it breaks your heart. You didn’t hate Billups for being a punk, but because he wasn’t on your team.

Sorry Chauncey . The Clippers must dedicate the rest of the season to you . They’ll do alright . It’s amazing that an individual , who’s only been with the team a month and a half , has influenced everyone for the good . It says alot about your character as a fine human being . You will go down as one of the best Clippers ( in our hearts ) of all time . Get well soon and God bless you . He has already blessed us !

A tough break for a good veteran player and classy professional. It will be interesting to see if the Clips can make a deep run in the playoffs with out Billups, because he was such a great steady influence on an young team. Best wishes on a speedy recovery, from a lifelong Laker fan.

Well that sucks. A guy that has since forever, has had to hold dysfunctional or terrible teams together, a guy that finally gets his time to be on a cohesive unit, is out for the season.

He’s got to have a better chance of bouncing back than Shaq did. Achilles injuries are devasting, but I think a 35 year old, well-conditioned guard would have a better chance than a 39 year old overweight center. But I’m not sure if Shaq actually tore it…still, such a shame.
