Best owner in sports. He’s exactly the type of person who SHOULD own a pro sports franchise. Wealthy enough to be able to run the team like a hobby, yet smart enough to put a championship product on display, and squeeze out a profit in the process. Best of all, he’s a bona-fide decent human being.

You imply that officiating wasn’t absolutely horrible before the lockout. Newsflash: it was.

Officials work 80-100 nights a year and are compensated with 6 figure salaries. Overworked? If only we all could be so lucky.

Definitely great to see him doing something positive out of this, but his most recent comments still irritate.

Cuban as well as his fellow owners need to own up to their own responsibilty with respect to the poor officiating. These guys are squeezing way t oo many games into too short a time span – thus you’ve got officials who are overworked, and low and behold, their performance is suffering. And oh by the way, the players performance isn’t what it should be as well – see this year’s drop in scoring averages. Greed wins out over quality of the product.
