Cuban knows that the Mavericks probably aren’t headed back to the Finals, which is why he feels comfortable mouthing off about the referees. If he thought they had a chance he wouldn’t risk a repeat of 2006.

What do you expect from Cuban? He couldn’t referee a checker match if his life depended on it, so who cares what he thinks?

Except it is 100% incorrect. They are playing about half a game more a week than they normally would, so it’s 66 games instead of 58.

These are highly paid positions with many begging for them. I have not noticed any difference from the norm, in fact, I feel they’ve been more consistent as to fouls being called. Sure they miss calls, it’s tough seeing things at the speed they play. But if the league shows more problems, let’s not pretend these guys are mining coal 16 hours a day, 7 days a week. One more game every 14 days is hardly overwhelming.

Agreed, love seeing guys who usually get the anticipatory whistle before contact actually occurs not constantly getting bailed out by the refs for flinging themselves into the lane w/o any control and tossing up a prayer.

It seems like they are letting them play a bit more physical this year and I like it. I really enjoy them letting defenders have the chance to jump straight up and not get called if somebody rams into them, if the offense creates that much contact, it’s his own fault. Leave the flopping for the soccer players and play some damn basketball.

If it wasn’t for the replacement refs debacle a few years ago, I would disagree that they the current refs are the best at it. But no sure if this is a good thing as the same system allowed a crooked ref to go unnoticed. Then again you still have to wonder if Donaghy,like Canseco, is a POS who telling the truth in self-congratulatory but still the truth.
