BTW, there are several valid definitions out there that contravene your argument.

I’m not a Lakers fan or a hater. I’m a Sixers fan and most of all a basketball fan. I think Blake’s dunks are pretty amazing. He might be the greatest in-game dunker of all time and he’s only played, what, a year and a half? I just think he’s had a lot better than these two. Yeah it’s pretty cool that he can jump a foot above the rim and throw it through the hoop, but it would’ve looked a lot better if he would’ve grabbed the rim…. just for style purposes.

I don’t think those are “Slam-Dunks” at all.
They are entirely deserving of their own unique moniker.

“Blake Griffin throw down” or “Overhand hook-shot”

When you can jump vertically from 2 feet outside the restricted arc, reach over your man, and throw the ball downward through the ring…..
Well, that is something never before seen.

tcclark….I know you are probably another mad laker fan.

But what makes it so impressive is that, most of us can name maybe only 5 other guys in the league , that can jump a foot above the rim, while being pushed/ fouled by another 6’10, 245 lb professional athlete and still manage to throw the ball down thru the rim, in a split second….just stand in awe and give the man his props and stop drinking so much hater-aid.

Perkins dunk is better. Mozgov was clueless when it happened, it was like his first day of school.

Perkins tried to foul him, is much stronger, and is a trash-talking tough guy. What’s even the question?

I really don’t like the “dunks” where they don’t touch the rim. I never liked the “Superman ‘dunk’” and these would be a lot better if he could’ve found a way to grab the rim. It just doesn’t look right throwing it in like that.

Mozgov – smooth – point for Mozgov
Perkins – nasty but exciting – point for Perkikns
Mozgov – chest thump from Jordan – point for Mozgov
Perkins – scream and a bear hug from Jordan – point for Perkins
Mozgov – ref in the background calling the blocking foul basically saying you’re effed – 2 points for Mozgov
Perkins – Blake catches the ball after the dunk – point for Perkins
Perkins – watched it live – point for Perkins

Perkin’s one was bigger and more brawlic. But with the Mozgov one Blake kinda pushed Timofey’s face into his nut sack, so…extra points for that.

Perkins dunk was better. He propped himself up on Mozgov and there was more daylight between his hand and the rim.

Don’t know how Perkins had a good look at it, Griffin covered his eys so he couldn’t see what was coming.
If he hadn’t gotten fouled and pushed back a little, it could have been real nasty.

Mozgov’s was cleaner, sexier and better in slow mo. Perkin’s was nastier, higher, more animal and better in real time.
