He’s not saying that Rose would be the #4 option on OKC. He’s talking about guys like Luol Deng or Carlos Boozer that are #2 options for the bulls.

First of all Rose is the Bulls leading scorer, secondly you may want to put the xbox down and watch an actual game if you think that Rose would be the 4th option on any NBA team. If he played with KD, he would willingly defer to him and let the better scorer be the #1 option, not fight with him for the priviledge

Put Derrick Rose on the court with KD and Harden and he would play a different game. Bulls number 2 scorer would be a 4th option on OKC. Rose shoots high volume because he has to, Westbrook does it because he can’t stop himself.

Look nobody is asking Russell to stop scoring … but becoming more selective with his shot decisions is something he needs to improve on.

Nobody can deny that what Westbrook did against the Mavericks last year in the Conference Finals was selfish. He tried to do too much.
Hard to knock a guy for that … but he has other talented players around him as you mentioned.

Rose takes dumb shots too, as we saw yesterday against Miami.

Westbrook is a helluva point guard, but he has areas he needs to improve in…and one is passing.

Both are great players, however they are separated by their mentality. Team wins are more important to Rose than any 1 on 1 battle. I don’t see Rose ever playing for stats or personal victories.

Westbrook stated it best himself when he revealed that his father instilled in him that his only friend on the basketball court is the ball.

No bone to pick here being a lakers fan, but I agree with above ^^^ it’s almost similar to the heat, to many number 1 guys on a team, basketballs becoming more like football in the sense that you need to build your team around 1 star, and the draft, a core of young potential and talent filled players who actually know a system will always beat 3-4 all stars on a team trying to learn a system and how to completely play the game differently at either a bigger or more reduced role. I would of liked to see rondo for Russ, I think that’s a great trade for both teams giving the celtics some explosive young scoring power, and Durand would then recieve a more pure PG who can get him the ball

He does have some valid points, but there is one MAJOR difference.

Derrick Rose is the leader of the team and is carrying that franchise on his back.

Russel Westbrook is attempting to do the same, but he ultimately is option number two. The duo could work, they just have to figure it out.

The Thunder are trying to make Durant a “1″ and Westbrook a “1a”. Except now it’s simply “1″ and “2″.
