The Hornets wouldn’t have even gotten Gasol. They were getting Scola and Kevin Martin. Also Gordon is restricted so he’s not going anywhere.

Gordon and that 1st is way better than anything else you would have gotten. Plus you got Aminu and essentially Cap relief when Kaman Comes off the books. With Odom, Martin, and Scola you would have been mediocre for years. With Gordon and that lottery pick, you could be elite in a couple of years. Be patient

So when the Hornets lose Gordon and Kaman resulting in Paul being essentially swapped for Aminu and a 1st, are we still going to say it wasn’t as bad as getting Gasol, Odom, and a not as high 1st?

As a Hornets fan, I think it is horse cr*p that Chris Paul is a Clipper and not a Laker.

They’d be better off letting him walk for nothing than taking that deal. Villanueva’s contract is about as immovable as you can get. Who wants to pay a man 8 million a year for the next three years to sit on the bench? You’d have to give me an unprotected first rounder just to take that contract. And Austin Daye? Really? He’s not really an asset. He’s shooting 32% from the field.

So they have to take back salaries AAV of approx $9.5m to cover Kaman’s $14m…

Kaman needs to com home to MI….Charlie V, Austin Daye and a 2nd rounder….don’t think they’ll get a better offer….otherwise if they don’t trade him somewhere he’s a FA and leaves for nothing…

Don’t know about contending.But he fills the need at the 5 and he will help contribute for cap space.He can re-sign after all the recruting.

As a Pacers fan I hope they can find a way to ship out Tyler “Im never going to box out” Hansbrough for Kaman. I am sick of watching him shoot jumpers and letting his guy get offensive rebounds. Cousins got 9 O boards.. with most of them coming on Tyler. If we can make the money work… ship Tyler out… hell I dont even care what Kaman gives us. Its addition by subtraction.

Get him to Philly! Unfortunately it’s unlikely. without trading any of the core players the only way the salaries can work is if the sixers trade Nocioni, Brackins, and Vucevic, along with Mareese Speights’ trade exception.

I just don’t see that happening. The Sixers are high on Vuc and i don’t think they’d be willing to trade him for a rental like Kaman. if they planned on resigning him maybe, but even then I don’t think Vuc and garbage is enough for the Hornets either.

It would be nice but i don’t see it happening.

Why? Why not keep him? He’s easily a top 10 Center in the league and he said he likes it in Nawlins so what gives? His #s are only like that because he hasn’t started much and plays limited minutes for those of you who want to argue that top 10 C comment. He can do it all, score, rebound, block, he’s 29, 7”0, hits the mid-range and has a variety of post moves, was an all-star a few seasons ago so you know he has the ability.

Yeah, he is a tad bit overpaid, but so is just about everyone else in the league, especially at the center position. You don’t find 7”0ers that have all those skills. Even if he’s not a top 30 player in the league he is more then useful as a center.
