You all are forgetting this kid hasnt been able to stay on the court since he came into the league..Why offer him that type of money if he cant even play 60 games a year..You all are way off.."and one of the best SG in the league" writer? Not hard to do..Thats because there are only 3-4 good ones in the whole league right now. After Kobe and Wade the drop off is steep. And teams arent going to pay him a ton of money if he only plays a handful of games this season. This kid is fragile and labeled already in his young career and shows very little heart. Whatever the offer was he declined, NO was right in offering him what they did. Let someone else baby him. Thats exactly how teams end up the way they do by overpaying and not getting return on their investment. Kudos David Stern ( for once)

His name is Gordon, not Gordan.

It is Hey and not Hay.

And Bite not bight..

Hope you were just being sarcastic.

As the article stated he is a shooting guard and not really a PG.

It would be neat to see him end up back in Indiana with George Hill though.

The only real way to make heads or tails of this situation is to find out what the offer was. Not to mention, who wants to play for the league-owned Hornets? Especially a guy who was promised he wouldn't be traded. Either 1) Eric Gordon has an inflated perception of his worth and rejected a good deal, 2) He was lowballed and rejected the deal, or 3) He simply doesn't want to play in New Orleans, no matter the offer.

Why would NO over pay now and give him a max deal? Let someone offer him that first, and then match it. There is no risk of losing a RFA by not overpaying in January. Best case scenario: no one offers him the max, and NO just matches the best offer. Worst case scenario: someone offers max and NO matches.

"But how much do you pay for potential?" It's funny question to ask now, when the trade for Paul went down people were saying it was a better deal based on Gordan's potential. Now it's pay the man time and we're not sure how much to pay for said potential? If Gordan doesn't become at least a top 10 pg in this league you've already paid too much. If he doesn't resign, you really paid too much. But hay, nobody cares how the sausage is made, until they bight into a rats tail!!!!
