If this was a final exam you would get a perfect 100 . We are emotionally invested in Griffin , Chris Paul , DeAndre Jordan , Caron Butler , and Chauncey Billups . Mo Williams is the sixth Man of the Year .

From a pure basketball stand point, it would be a smart trade for the Clippers to trade Griffin for Howard, as Howard is a better player in nearly every way and didn’t have a major knee surgery to start his career.

But it won’t happen because the Clippers and their fans are too emotionally invested in Griffin.

Trading away Griffin would be like selling your first born . This is the first time we have quality player we can call our own . Nah , I wouldn’t trade him if you gave us Howard , Kobe and Durant in a three for one deal . That’s the way I see it and I’m sticking to it ! Go Clippers .

Oh jimsjam33 – resorting to name calling is silly.

Dwight Howard is a better defender. Dwight Howard is a better offensive player. Dwight Howard is a better rebounder. And Dwight Howard is exactly the type of player that shuts down the lane for the Lebron’s of the world. Whether I am a Laker fan or not – any Laker fan would be pissed if the Clippers had Howard and CP3. That could become Shaq/Kobe 2.0, assuming, of course, CP3′s knees don’t fall off.

And lets not forget – Howard has absolutely no injury history at all. Griffin has a bad knee and already had to miss a season.

Blake Griffin is not the reason CP3 went there. CP3 was traded. He may have had to agree to the extension – but he would have agreed to the extension now if Howard was traded to the Clips.

Blake Griffin is overrated. He’s Stoudemire 2.0 without the jumpshot. Clippers are dumb not to make that trade.

CP3 + Howard + Ryen Anderson > CP3 + Griffin + DeAndre. It’s not really that close either.

Howard should just wait until the offseason and pick his destination. Why would he want to be traded for valuable pieces when he can join that team in a few months when they are better?

Publicity-wise, keeping Paul happy-wise, talent-wise, almost everything-wise, Howard-for-Griffin is an even trade. Griffin has more career left, more upside, and will be cheaper in the short-term. Howard is the most dominant center in the game, and will be until he quits.

Howard can go anywhere he wants as a free agent. I’d just tell the clippers to wait until then. Do what u want Orlando but I’m only signing long term where I want to, not where its best for u to trade me.

Howard is a rebounding & defensive stalwart, however his downside is he hasn’t really improved substantially skill wise in his NBA career makes Griffin a keeper to me (I think there’s more upside with Griffin this early in his career). As an avid fan & player of the game it doesn’t take a ton of work to improve FT shooting & what 15 yr old or younger doesn’t have a couple of go to moves already?! If Howard diverted the energy he uses to cry to the refs & applied that to improving FT%/developing/evolving his game he’d be without debate the best player in the league.
