Video: Andrea Bargnani’s underground All-Star anthem

Jan 17, 2012, 1:27 PM EDT

Brilliant.

We told you Andrea Bargnani is having a career year in Toronto (which, along with the Raptors improved defense, should have people using the words “Dwane Casey” and “coach of the year” in the same sentence). He’s actually defending as well as giving Toronto 22 points a game, and he’s doing it more efficiently than ever. He has a PER of 22.2, which is All-Star level.

But as the forward spot in the East is stacked with good players — LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Amar’e Stoudemire, Kevin Garnett, Chris Bosh, Paul Pierce and more — it’s going to take more to put Bargnani over the top.

Like his own theme music. Every hero needs his own theme music. From the minds of The Basketball Jones. Brilliant.

That’s pretty good. But All-Star Bargnani? No.

    Career year? Really Kurt? hahahaha

(which, along with the Raptors improved defense, should have people using the words “Dwane Casey” and “coach of the year” in the same sentence).

    That is just stupid

The Raptors are 14 games into the season and they are 4-10.

How about the 9-3 Pacers? Frank Voegle?

Obviously you’re right – I don’t think Kurt actually believes Casey is going to win Coach of the Year.
But getting the Raptors to play respectable defense is like flying to the moon on your own. It’s like getting Kobe to pass the ball.
It’s a very special accomplishment that deserves recognition

It’s very early, but Doug Collins is trying to run away and hide with COY. Doesn’t mean we can’t talk Casey.
