It’s an exhibition game where fans basically vote on whomever they’re willing to pay to see.

Yes it’s a popularity contest and until it starts counting as anything other than an exhibition, whining about the logistics is pointless.

At this point in time is Calderon having a better season than Williams? Maybe, but obviously fans don’t want to see him as much. Its just the way it is. I’m sure if he goes to NY, Boston, LA, etc… that would change.

On a big stage, a company wants to use big names that people willing to pay big $ for tickets want to see.

First nba all star games are a joke as far as picking true “all stars”. Even more so than anyother sport is this a celebrity contest. WAde has played what 4 games so far ? Right. James is maybe the most inept 4 th quarter player so far yet he’s in. Or how bout the fact that jeru holiday is playing at an elite level yet rondo and Williams are getting more votes than he is. They really need a new system other than fan voting. I don’t mind if the fans have input, they should. But how bout the fan vote only counts as 25 % and the players and coaches ( the people who know best who’s the top players) count as the other 75%

It’s no surprise Dwight Howard is the top center and leading vote getter. Guards and forwards get two votes each, centers get one.

And it’s not so much people LOOOVE Howard as much as it is he is in a class of his own in his position and conference.

I mean, who else are you going to vote for? Roy Hibbert? JaVale McGee? Spencer Hawes (He should really be getting more props then what he’s getting as the 2nd or third best center right now out east.) ?

Al Horford is just a “brand name” at this point. He’s wildly inconsistent and impressive games are few and far in between. Joakim Noah is having an off year to say the least, his twin Anderson Varejaeo is doing better.

I mean there’s no competition, so there’s no surprise as to why Superman got so many votes. Joel Anthony’s in the mix! LMAO, there are way too many jokers out there!

Wow, they have played what 12-13 games and they are voting for All Stars. They shouldn’t even have the game. Almost as big a joke as the Pro Bowl.
