The Sixers I watched last night were nowhere near as active on D as usual. They refused to close out on three pointers the entire night. Harrelson had time to write a book before jacking three after three. I understand the need to help on Amare, but you have to close out when he kicks it out. Didn’t happen last night.

Man remember when people said Dirk was too soft and couldn’t finish? Watching him the last two years shows people can figure things out I’d say. If Lebron ever does (I hate to admit it) the man will be even more feared. Also Kobe is great but 3-12 in the fourth and OT?! You are getting older Kobe and you have help! Use it please. LAL all day

THE BLACK MAMBA IS STILL THE BEST PLAYER IN THE NBA!!! Dirk is the closes player we’ve seen to Larry Legend who IMO is the best small forward ever. I’d take Bird over LeBron any day!!!

also i really wish Thad would stop taking Mid-range jumpers. He hit one last night and that was the only one I’ve seen this year. He just misses them badly. Stay inside young fella.

I don’t know if the Sixers were really that tired last night. they may have looked like that on the offensive end, but defensively they were still really active. I think the only difference between last night and any other night was the lack of offense from Lou Williams and Jodie Meeks. Lou was just taking bad shots last night and (i hate to say it, but) Jodie meeks didn’t take enough shots. he usually starts off slow, but heats up and hits some big shots for them. He wasn’t there last night.

I love how everyone assumes that if Kobe wasn’t shooting all the time those shots wouldn’t be taken by other members of the team who have equal or better shot percentages.

Am I the only one that is getting tired of the condensed seasson as a built in excuse for poor play? I understand they are playing more games per week, and have games on 2 or 3 straight nights at times. But, we are led to believe that the players are finely tuned athletes. This is their job, for which they are compensated extremely well. They are playing a game that most of them have played their entire lives. Even if they switched teams or coaches, the game shouldn’t be different enough to excuse poor shooting or lazy effort. The media needs to quit hyping the condensed season as an excuse for poor, lazy play. I think the season should be more condensed every year. There is no reason it needs to run for 8 months or more to play 82 games.

No question. Tony Battie is a big step down from Hawes. Also, I noticed that about 80% of their missed jumpers were short so I’m thinking there were some tired legs out there. Lou Williams looked like a Zombie tonight. I guess that will happen when you start off on a 5 game west coast road trip and then play a rested Knicks team at the Garden in the third game of a back to back to back.

The good news: Next up is a home and away with the Wiz.
