The tripped because he was going to get railroaded. He tripped because although his brain said to defend, his body said, Hell No!
Everyone knocking Gooden, but he probably made the smartest decision to back the Heck OFF!

Seriously? The replay clearly showed he was falling down before.Griffin even left the floor. Drew Gooden deserves the posturization. He stood there and watched which is why he’s on a new team every year…

I agree, let’s not lose our sh*t over every Blake Griffin dunk, but the Clippers are no sub-500 team. This team, if they stay healthy, is playoff-bound.

1. Ersan didn’t get Blake Griffin’d…the clumsy kid just fell down.

2. How many MILLIONS is Drew Gooden getting paid to stand like a spectator next to Griffin? As a professional basketball player on defense…Gooden has 2 options in that situation. He can at least try and contest the shot like he’s being paid to do, or he can get old-school with it and send a message to Blake with a nice, HARD foul to let the young kid know nothing comes easy. Instead, Drew Gooden conceded defeat and laid out a red carpet for the enemy to arrive on.

No interest in fighting for his team, but plenty of interest in avoiding an appearance on a Blake poster.

The smart play would be to step in and take a charge, but no one wants to be posterized even if they get the call. Not that Ilyasova would’ve done anything, but it’s not fair to say he got dunked on.

Ilyasova was actually falling down. The guy that should be ashamed is Drew Gooden, who wanted no part of Griffin and made no attempt to challenge the shot. Very soft

Could be much worse. Ilyasova came over to help on the screen and roll and then thought better of it.
